As proud members of MAC (Mid-Atlantic Center For The Arts), my wife and I support and applaud Cape May's efforts to preserve the history and ambiance of this beautiful shore town. One of the perks we enjoy as active members is free admission to The Physick Estate. We have taken the various tours at various times of the year over a dozen times and never tire of the house, the tour, or the ever-changing attractions in this living museum. Throughout the years, the guides have been uniformly excellent: friendly and knowledgable. The interior layout and exterior design of the house will appeal to anyone with an interest in architecture. The tour itself will appeal to anyone with an interest in Victorian history. After the tour, the Carriage House Tea room offers an excellent repast. Just a few steps from the Carriage House Tea Room is the museum, which houses a small but respectable collection of vintage clothing, artwork, and decor. Be sure to peruse the small gift shop which has an excellent collection of china tea sets, books, teas, and souvenirs. The Physick Estate also has a modest reputation for being "haunted," if you are interested in that sort of thing. Very enjoyable and a great way to kill an hour or two.
