Chet and his staff attended to our every need. The room and facilities were charming, just what you would expect from a 160 year old "home". The breakfast were excellent, with home baked goodies included. The afternoon tea (and coffee) with fresh baked sweets were great too. We really enjoyed the wine and cheese at 5:30. We had great conversations with many people.
All things considered, everything was A+. If you are looking for modern facilities with solitude, a B&B is not the place for you. If you want great food, facilities, staff and conversation, this is the place for you. Remember, this is an old building, so everything is not perfect and modern, but this was EXACTLY what we were looking for! We stayed 3 nights over Presidents weekend, and there was plenty to do.
(Plenty of off street parking, which is a real plus for Cape May)
(PS to Chet, we are glad you liked the picture of our house decorated for Christmas!)

Room Tip: Room 8 on the 2nd floor was great, with a balcony facing the ocean. You could even see the ocean fr...

We stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary and couldn't have picked a better place. The staff is friendly and helpful in every way. The rooms are clean and lovely. Tea at 4pm and wine and cheese at 5:30pm. Coffee is available at 7am and breakfast was delicious. We will go back again!

Room Tip: 106 (and others) have an ocean view.

I have wanted to stay here since I was a child and we finally did in Dec 2011. It's a great value- breakfast, afternoon tea, wine, bike rentals, and all your beach needs in season. Everything was delicious and the food was great. The room was clean and adorable. My only complaint- town is a little far. Off season that's a little bit of a bummer. In season, when most of your time is on the beach, it's probably no biggie. Great romantic getaway!!

stumbled onto this b&b by accident on our travels from DC to Philly while killin time & exploring. we are already planning to return for a much longer stay. we almost cancelled our plans so we could stay more than the 1 night. excellent food & host, very friendly guests that were return every year guests. cannot wait to return so we can explore the area more. was very quiet and relaxing this time of year. some rooms are smallish, but very quaint. large rooms are avail & seems very reasonable. we will stay here so we can explore the jersey shores in the near future. don't miss this place if your travels take u close!

Room Tip: book a larger suite if you plan to spend more time in your room. some smaller rooms do have balconys...

Angel of the Sea possesses all the charm one might expect in the Victorian era. The rooms are styled in Victorian colors, furniture and accents. The mood is laid back and restful. The staff is attentive to your needs. We have stayed at this bed and breakfast for the past 6 years and we have always felt as if we were special guests. Oh! And there is a wonderfully presented tea with cookies and/or pastries each late afternoon about 4 PM. This is followed by a wine and cheese hour at 5:30 PM. Each year that we go to Angel we have to remember to make dinner reservations for about 8 PM, because we fill ourselves so much with the abundance of goodies at these two special snack times. I promise that you won't go away from these afternoon snacks feeling gastronomically deprived! While we are on the subject of food. Breakfast is available from 8 AM to 10 AM each morning. And it is a freshly cooked meal that will not disappoint you. When they can, they will accomodate any special dietary needs you may have.

I cannot finish this review without a reminder that this bed and breakfast has a lot of history and even a few ghosts stories of the friendly variety. But, I will leave that up to you to discover when you visit! Go and enjoy!

Room Tip: Angel of the Sea has pictures of each room with a very clear and honest description of each room. T...

Thanks and Wow thats a lot to live up to. We do try hard each day to surprise even our most frequent guests with a great menu. With all the day to day stress most people endure a little peace and wine go a long way. Thanks for all the delightful words and we will keep working hard at making it look like we are not working at all!!!!!
