Not being familiar with the bed and breakfast type of hotel, I had low expectations. They were exceeded. We stayed just one night but availed ourselves of all the hotel had to offer. They have tea at 3:30 and wine and cheese at 5:30. Breakfast is from 8 - 10. Very friendly staff which were very helpful during our stay.

We stayed in angel suite 24 which is $350 a night during the high season. Not cheap but the experience was unique. Highly recommended for a romantic getaway. The Victorian theme runs throughout the entire hotel.

Great access to beach and they provide towels, bikes and beach chairs. They also have an outdoor shower which we used on our last day prior to driving home.

Appears to be many repeat visitors. All of the guests we spoke to had been at the inn many times.

Not sure I am a bed and breakfast fan as I tend to like the big resorts, however, I would recommend angel of the sea for a special weekend with your special someone.

I have been visiting the Angel of the sea for ten years. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they stay current on events happening in Cape May and surrounding area and inform me of them. There are many large porches for sitting outside relaxing, playing card, reading or people watching. Very close to the beach, they supply chairs, umbrellas, and towels ( do bring money to beach, NJ has for pay beaches in the summer months). There are life guards at the beach and hot cart venders nearby. Breakfasts are great, hot dishes, fresh fruits, baked goods and cereal. There is tea, coffee, cookies and cake in the afternoon. Early evening is wine, cheese, vegetables and dips. You never go under feed on your visit to the Angel. There many sizes and styles of rooms to choose from. The Angel is always a work in progress with beautiful gardens, lit up at night and wonderful smells in the morning. I have taken my husband, mother for her 75th birthday, sister, young adult son and daughters of all ages and everyone has a great time. Cape May is a charming town with great shops, mini golf, history, bird and butterfly watching, whale and dolphin watching, horse drawn carriages, festivals, seasonal events, winery s and world class restaurants. If you want the boardwalk stuff Wildwood, NJ. is just a short drive north. Can not wait to return.

Room Tip: Pick a first floor room if you do not want to walk up and down stairs.

I been meaning to write this for weeks. One word horrible!
I checked in and the woman did not even smile or say hi. Everything here is old and dusty and clutter all over with bold wall paper. The shower is a joke it sprays spritz.

I had never stayed at a B&B before, and my (too brief) stay at this charming Victorian jewel has made me a fan. Our room was lovely, decorated in keeping with the Victorian theme. The views were lovely and we enjoyed a wine and cheese reception in the afternoon before heading out to dinner. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was exceedingly friendly. We were only able to stay one night, but we will definitely come back to spend more time here!

I absolutely adore this place. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a larger room which was a great start to our stay. The angel is gorgeous!! The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean! If you are a beach lover, the location can't be beat. At night, the stunning victorian property is decorated with twinkling lights. In addition to the beauty and grace, guests receive many perks. The angel offers beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and just about the cutest bikes I have ever seen! They provide a tea time with delectable desserts. Soon after that, you are served wine and tasty treats. For breakfast, you can snack on fresh fruits and sweets until your meal is served. We were given two choices and both were delicious! I highly recommend The Angel of the Sea.
