This is our fourth time staying at the Angel and of course it was just as wonderful as ever! We will be back next year for sure. We stayed in room 10 this time, it was our first time staying in the main house. I think we found a new favorite room. You really can't go wrong staying at the Angel. The cook out for Labor Day was great too!

This was our first time at The Angel, and we will certainly be back. As for convenience, it is near enough to "downtown" Cape May, only 200 feet from the beach and the trolley that connects both shopping and the beach has a stop 150 feet only from the front door. You really could not ask for more. The style both inside and outside the building is consistent with the overpainted, overdecorated look of the Guilded Era in the late 1800s, when excess for the purpose of showing off your wealt was quite acceptable. In addition to a friendly kitchen staff, the "cottage" provides a full breakfast, coffee service in the late afternoon and unlimited wine and cheese in the early evening, plus a fleet of bikes carry you arround to manny places nearby. It is not an ideal place for small kids, unless you will be spending much time out of the room on the beach, traveling on a whale watch or bird watching boat ride, or shopping. There are no facilities for them at the inn, but the environment is so quiet and and calming that that may be enough to keep the peace.

Room Tip: There are a number of room cost categories, depending on location, room size number of beds and ocea...

My wife and I just returned from our third stay at "our special place" at the Angel of the Sea in Cape May. Our visits are always peaceful and relaxing - we are looking forward to our next time in this charming B&B just a block from the beach. The staff is always helpful and make us feel so welcome - on our most recent visit they were able to to secure a discount on a couple of our favorite restaurants for us by making us aware of some current promotions. Breakfast is always something unique and tasty and is a great start to our day. Angel of the Sea has unique character and atmosphere and has become our prime destination when we want to stay in Cape May.

Room Tip: Book early for best availability and study the room guide on the web site to know what you want as v...

We booked late in the season, so were prepared to take what we got. We were impressed at the level of hospitality (not a Jersey Shore strong suit, IMHO), the generous food offerings (two different late afternoon snacks), the porches on every level including plenty of comfortable seating, the proximity to a well-appointed beach, bikes (included with the room!), outdoor shower, proximity to Pier House, a new (for us) restaurant, rich history with the building, etc. I'm not crazy about the tchotchke bonanza that assaults you when you enter (typical at nearly all Victorian B&Bs), but at least they kept theirs dusted. Only 2 caveats: Those wanting to stay closer to "downtown" Cape May might not enjoy it; and older people who can't do stairs better sort that out when booking. But for those looking just to get away and relax, this place is a real find.

My huband and had a fabulous two day visit at Angel at the Sea. We felt that we had been away for a week, as we were able to pack in so many activities. We had a wonderful breakfast, with a choice of two hot dishes, as well as cereal, fruit, and pastries. We then had a choice of riding one of the hotel's bikes. going across the street to the beach with one of the inn's chairs, or walking along the beach and visiting the many shops along the way. We met very nice people while chatting at the breakfast table, and felt very much at home. The room was large, tastefully decorated, and conveniently located to all parts of the hotel.. We highly recommend the inn to anyone interested in a very enjoyable vacation on Cape May.

Just returned from our second stay at the Angel. My 10 year old daughter and I went for a Mommy & Daughter vacation. The inn is just beautiful and very clean. The breakfasts, afternoon tea and evening wine & cheese are delicious. The entire staff went out of their way to make my daughter feel special. The owner of the inn saw us enjoying our tea on one of the porches and invited us to follow him. He took us to a third story porch that we did not realize was open for our use. The view was gorgeous. Later he took myself & my daughter to see some of the suites that were not being used that day. He gave us a lovely "guided" tour of the inn and made us feel very welcome and special. I would highly recommend the Angel.
