I have to be honest, I was not sure about this whole new innkeeper thing. My wife and I have been going to The Mission Inn for 15 years and were married there in 2005. Susan and Ray are friends and I was somewhat distraught to learn that they sold the Inn to Laura and Wendy. We were so pleasantly surprised with our new Innkeepers, though. Friendly, accommodating, personable...different from Susan and Ray but just as delightful. The staff are still there and Leslie's breakfasts still keep you full until 4:00 happy hour where more tasty examples of her culinary prowess appear in the guest kitchen. The entire Inn is set to encourage the guests to spend time in the common areas, chat and make new friends. I think the thing that made the biggest impression on me was when Laura said that her and Wendy don't feel like the owners of the Inn, merely the stewards of this historic and wonderful place. Their desire to keep the things that work about the Inn and to add their own stamp is really admirable. Absolutely love the addition of the fire pit on the private back patio! While we will miss seeing Susan and Ray (although you may have a sighting because they still live in town) it is nice to have made new friends and ones that you know will continue to strive to make The Mission Inn the absolute best B&B in Cape May. Laura and Wendy, well done! Thanks for the fantastic weekend! See you both soon!

Have always wanted to come to this place after seeing all the great reviews on TripAdvisor. What really stands out when you first arrive is that this place is not like most of the Victorian type places in Cape May. I wondered if we made the right choice but that was quickly dispelled. The inn is very spacious and has many areas that you can mingle with others or if you prefer have some privacy. The room was very large and beautifully decorated. The inn keepers Lauren and Wendy are very hospitable and gracious hosts who go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and provide a lot of advice and information about the area, what to do and places to dine. I love the fact that they have a fridge full of beverages to include wine, many craft beers and all kinds of soft drinks. I don’t know if they had quiete guests because of the room did not have much outside noise like a lot of the Victorian buildings sometimes do. We also liked that it was one block away from the beach. It is a little bit of a walk to the central area in Cape May but we loved the Walks and Parking was a nonissue in this area. The town provides free transportation for those that don’t feel like walking. The breakfasts were very good and guests have the option of eating in the dining room at a large table with others or an outside porch area that was beautiful and had private tables. We will definitely be going back next year.

Hubby and I enjoyed 5 days at the Mission Inn in Cape May in early September.

The Inn is beautifully appointed and cared for, with pin-neat landscaping, attractive mission-style decor and architectural features. It has a sunny outdoor breakfast porch, spacious and comfortable sleeping rooms (ours included) and an assortment of comfy spaces for enjoying a quiet moment or a respite from a beach vacation.

Innkeepers Laura and Wendy are warm and attentive and made us feel at home immediately. Each was more than generous with their time and knowledge, with recommendations for dining and shopping were spot on. And they somehow remembered every day how you liked your coffee in the morning (milk or half and half?) and had it waiting and steaming when you arrived for breakfast. Aside from the warm personal vibe, they clearly took care of all of the big and little things that make for a super guest experience -- for instance, timing a refresh of our room for the breakfast hour so that we returned to a made bed and refreshed towels right at the beginning of the day.

Our large room was comfortable and attractive with a king bed and private bath with spa tub and roomy shower. The room was equipped with every amenity Wall murals and furnishings echo the Inn's California Mission theme.

Breakfast consisted of fresh seasonal fruit, local yogurts, egg dishes, quiche or waffles, and breakfast meats sourced from local providers. All delicious, served individually and presented beautifully. Afternoon wine and house-made small bites were offered daily. A 24 hour guest kitchen was stocked with beverages, cookies, paper goods and plastic ware and provided space for guests to chill a bottles of their own wine or other drinks. Rocking chairs on the porch and comfy couches in the sunroom were perfect for enjoying a book or figuring out what to do next.

The Inn is well located, close and walkable to the beach and Washington Mall, and but nicely removed by a few blocks from where traffic builds. It has off street parking, which is probably a huge asset during the summer season. Other amenities for summer guests include bkes, beach towels, an outdoor shower and an outdoor patio area with fire pit. The Inn has an arrangement with a beach services vendor to provide umbrellas and beach chairs for guests at the beach itself. Another nice convenience.

We enjoyed our stay and Laura and Wendy provided us with a guest experience that was personal, rich with creature comforts, and a great jumping off point for enjoying lovely Cape May. I would recommend the Mission Inn to anyone. My husband and I would go back in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Bed and breakfast. Rooms are on both the first and second floors. There is no elevator.

This was our second time staying at The Mission Inn. The second time was under new ownership Laura and Wendy. My wife loved it the first time but the second time was just as nice if not better. Laura and Wendy have taken it over the top as far as we are concerned with their hospitality and service. We highly recommend The Mission Inn anytime of the year.

This was our second visit to The Mission Inn in less than three months. We had such a wonderful time in July that we couldn't wait to come back.
Laura and Wendy are amazing hosts! They are so incredibly thoughtful and attentive to everyone. They provide a very detailed list of events for the week as well as offering to make dinner recommendations and reservations if needed.
The Inn itself if beautiful and the two rooms we have stayed in were immaculate. The beds were exceptionally comfortable.
The food is amazing! The breakfast was always delicious and the best we have ever had at a bed and breakfast.. The afternoon appetizers were beyond delicious and a welcome treat. The refrigerator is stocked with wine, assorted craft beers and all types of soft drinks, including delicious lemonade.
The location is wonderful, as it is only one block from the beach and a short ride or walk into town.
The Mission Inn is exceptional in all ways and we can't wait to come back!
