Yes Cape May is a delightful getaway, but what made it even more delightful was our stay at the Mooring B&B. We have stayed in Cape May several times throughout the years. Each time has been very enjoyable but there was something special about this most recent visit. Our host and hostess, Leslie and Vince were very gracious. They made us feel right at home. Our accomodations were excellent. The B&B is spotless and so appealing to the eye. The decor is lovely and each morning the breakfast was delicious. Vince was more than happy to offer other options for breakfast if we so desired. The proximity to the beach is perfect. It is located on a quiet street with little traffic. They were more than happy to suggest some intersting things that we might want to do during the day. I know that when we do choose to visit Cape May again we would not stay anywhere else.

My husband and I stayed here for the first time and had a really enjoyable experience. Upon arriving at the Mooring, we were greeted at the door by one of the owners, Vince, who is full of energy and extremely nice. Vince gave us the grand tour of the B&B and then showed us to our room. The house itself is really very special. Every single thing has an antique flare to it, whether it be the cups used for morning/afternoon tea, the couches, photos on the wall, staircase, decor, etc. You really feel like you step back in time when you're here. You can tell the owners take immense pride in the appearance and are constantly maintaining the house.

The location is great! It took us 10 minutes to walk to the town center and it's just steps away from the beach.

The breakfasts were phenomenal and the service was great.

Vince suggested several local restaurants and even offered to call and make our reservation which was really helpful as we had never been to Cape May before.

Only a few minor disappointments. Our bed was really uncomfortable and could certainly use an upgrade (we stayed in room #2 with the private entrance/kitchen/parking). We both woke up with back aches because the mattress is sinking in the middle Also, because room #2 is located on the bottom floor, you hear every single noise in the house. The kitchen must be located right behind our bathroom because we could hear full on conversations starting at 7 am which made for sleeping in on our vacation impossible. Also, we were woken up by the other guests coming down the squeaky stair case from the upper floors each morning as well. I suppose the noise comes with the territory of an old house though.

All in all, we really enjoyed our B&B experience and would definitely come back. We would just request a different room on one of the higher floors to avoid the noise.

Room Tip: Choose a room upstairs. If you stay on the bottom floor, you'll get no sleep as you hear everyth...

From the time we arrived and Vince introduced himself, my husband and I just loved the Mooring! He welcomed us and showed us his Inn. The room that we stayed in was lovely, very clean and beautifully decorated. We loved the location of the Mooring, we would get up each day, and just walk and that was great! We have stayed at other bed and breakfast's in Cape May, but the location of the Mooring, is the best by far! There was so many great things about Vince and Leslie, but I must say I love being able to have a choice at breakfast! And wow, the french toast was the best that I have ever had, hats off to the chef!!!!!! I am so glad that I picked the Mooring and we hope to make this a yearly trip, since this is such a great place to stay!

...anywhere in Cape May! The Mooring is a great B&B. From the time you arrive, Vince and Leslie make you feel welcomed and wanted. Their outstanding hospitality is only outdone by their service, food, and accomodations. Breakfast was great and with the afternoon tea we only visited a restaurant for an evening meal! We always asked Vince for a restaurant recommendation and were pleased w/every one he made and yes, everything is within a 10 minute walk of the Morring, except the beach - it's way closer. We've stayed at the Mooring three times in trhee different rooms and the experience was always top notch. It's great to park the car for a week and walk everywhere you want to be. It's simply the best of the best!!We were at the Mooring during the last week of July in to the first week of August in 2006, 2007, and 2008.

Room Tip: Our favorite room was #6, upstaris...we loved the step down into the bathroom and the bathroom itsel...

My wife and I greatly enjoyed the Mooring B&B, mostly because it was just a little bit off the beach and its bustle. The house itself is exactly what you would expect of a Cape May B&B. And the innkeeper was very helpful. Can't say enough about the caramel French toast!

My wife and I have just returned from our July respite at The Mooring. Let me start off by saying, “It is very hard to say exactly what’s BEST about Vince and Leslie”, only because they do so many good things right. With their attention to detail, they do an excellent job of running this B&B. A stop over at The Mooring certainly has to be at the top of any one’s… ”Must Stay While in Cape May” list…. that is anyone who knows anything about Cape May B&Bs.
The original purpose of The Mooring was as a Guest House. The ambience of the relaxed and refreshing B&B atmosphere that Vince and Leslie provide is reminiscent of those days of old. This, combined with a go out of their way attitude to ensure guest satisfaction, makes The Mooring a special experience. It is certainly one that we look forward to and enjoy as much as possible. So without getting into too much more detail, go experience The Mooring Guest House for yourself, and I’ll let Leslie and Vince do what they do best, everything.

Room Tip: Room #8 or #10 on the second floor has a semi private (just for those two rooms) balcony to enjoy th...

The Mooring is a better than average B&B with hosts who are very friendly and welcoming. Our 2nd floor room (#10) was beautifully appointed and had a shared outdoor porch with a partial ocean view. The window AC unit was undersized for the room and had difficulty keeping the entire room cool. The bathroom was very small and also very hot since it was on the opposite side of the room from the AC unit. Needless to say, if the weather was a bit cooler this would not have been an issue. The breakfasts were very good but not exceptional. Two standouts were the Greek Yogurt which is served daily and the blueberry french toast. Vince, one of the owners is very friendly and is often seen around the B&B. He is very happy to recommend a restaurant for dinner or just stop and chat for a few minutes. Although we enjoyed our stay at The Mooring, there are so many other wonderful B&B's in Cape May from which to choose that our next visit may include one of those.
