If you are looking for a well maintainted campground with a good staff and great tent sites in the Delaware Water Gap area, look no further. We were in tent site #85 and it was absolutely PERFECT. Up on a hill with good tree coverage for privacy and more space than we knew what to do with (worth noting though, we were two adults in a very small two man tent, which is why we had so much extra space. A larger tent would fit well but probably not leave so much extra ground).
The bathrooms in the primitive tenting area are nothing more than porta-potties. It was obvious that a fresh new one was put in right before the holiday weekend- much appreciated! It got a lot of use over the course of the three days so the freshness certainly wore off :-P but if it really bothers you, the flush toilets near the main office were always clean everytime we visited them. Speaking of the office, it was great! The staff were friendly and helpful, the store sold fun souvenir trinkets as well as supplies you may have forgotten (we were glad to be able to purchase a can of propane- traveled all the way from home with an empty one, oops!).
There are so many great things in the area- we visited wineries, kayaked on the Delaware, saw waterfalls, went on hikes, and also visited the Lakota Wolf Preserve which is right on the campground property. Don't miss out on that, it is fantastic and they even run a shuttle to it from the campground if you don't want to make the short hike.
I think we will be back here someday. The tent sites were set up so wonderfully and with so much to do at the Delaware Water Gap, you just can't go wrong.
