“NOT a luxurious getaway.....FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!”
Reviewed 20 January 2013

I called The Inn of the Dove on a Saturday afternoon questioning available rooms for that evening. The person who answered phone assured me there were plenty of rooms to chose from, that should of told me something!
My fiance and I arrived there around 7pm to no other cars in parking lot. I got the "Venice" room. I had a coupon for 10% off and he only took $10 off instead of the $14 it should of been first. Secondly, we got into room, which looked ok at first. The room has a fireplace so we called office to ask where the firewood or logs are, he replied that it's $10 per log. My fiance exploded over that response and told person that they should of mentioned that on their website and we would of brought our own wood. So, they gave us one log free of charge that my fiance had to go to office to get himself.
As we explored room we found there were NO snacks stocked in room as the website says there are, besides two 25 cent bags of chips. No drinks at all in refrigerator, that didnt even seem to be working. We turned on the water to the hot tub to fill it and it took 45 minutes for the water to cover the jets to be able to turn it on....seriously!! Water pressure was terrible! We turned on water to bathroom sink to brush our teeth and water came out brown at first...GROSS!
I then realized we were about to run out of toilet paper and there was NO extra roll in room at all so I called the office to let them know we needed some toilet paper and he informs me I can come to the office to get it. Well....I informed him that I absolutely WILL NOT and he can bring it to our room and leave it on our doorstep outside, so he did! Horrible customer service here for sure!!!
The room was alright, nothing to brag about. Was clean though, sheets were clean. Mattress was horrible though, wasn't even a mattress but more like a foam cushion or something and was terribly uncomfortable, couldn't sleep or wait to get home to my own bed!
This is a run down place with no customer service and I would NOT recommend it to others. I don't know if all of the Inn of the Doves are owned by different owners but I've stayed at the one in Cherry Hill before and it was much better than this one in all areas described. This place rents by the HOUR for goodness sakes!! Rediculous!!!
Save your money and go down the road aways....there was another place only 1/4 mile away that advertised a jacuzzi in every room that we should have stayed at instead! Oh well...you live and learn! :)

Room Tip: get a room somewhere else!!

We spent a Saturday night at the Inn of the Dove in Egg Harbor Township for a quick romantic weekend at the Jersey Shore. We were pleasantly surprised that the price for this cahin has decreased significantly from years past. We paid $139 and it used to be $249 for a Saturday night. This hotel is about 15 minutes outside Atlantic City. We wanted a jacuzzi tub and couldn't find anything in Atlantic City for anything close to the pirce. The outside of the hotel looks a bit in need of repair and updating, although the website says that the place has been renovated. The room was clean but in need of some repair. Also, when we got in the room, the heat was not on, so we spent the first hour with our coats on. You would think if they have a reservation, they would turn the heat on in that room! There was a television on top of the broken television, there were extension cords running throughout the room. Whoever did the painting did a horrible job, the tiles in the bathroom were painted and are pealing in the shower. There was no tissues in the holder and there was no backup roll of toilet paper (and is there something less than 1 ply paper). For a room with a jacuzzi, you would think they would give you enough towels for the guests to use the tub and later use the shower, but there were only 2 towels. We all know that women use 2 towels when they shower. For one night is was clean enough to stay and everything in the room was working, but they really need to spruce the place up and get some professional work done on the rooms.

Took my girlfriend here for what was suppose to be a nice get away. We should have gotten away from there. We pull up, no cars in the lot, dead grass and ladders leaning on the roofs or laying on the lawn. Go to check in, office was very dirty and not much of customer service. We go to the room, wasn't impressed at all. There was a missing fixture in the bathroom, just pipes sticking out of the wall, jacuzzi had a drip that must have been there for quite some time as the paint was worn off the tub. Bad lighting and just overall dirty. I wouldn't waste the money to stay there ever again, sleeping the car would have been better. There was a couple of bagsd of chips left in the room and 2 sodas and 2 bottles of water in the fridge, but I was afraid to drink them as who knows who did what to them and if they would have charged us for them. A tent camp would have been nicer for us to stay in.

Stayed here July 27, 2012, for a one night quick get-away. Place needs updating...badly. No shampoo, old blow dryer. Only new thing was flat screen TV. Only positive feature is the absolute quiet. Walls are built very well. You cannot here anything around you. Decor is from the nineties...maybe even the eighties. If that bothers you don't stay here.

I could echo the review by donnamarie5. My guy and I were surprised to see NO other cars on the property. Grass/weeds had grown through cracks in the parking lot. The leftover landscaping might have been nice originally, maybe 15-20 years ago, but now it looked forlorn, neglected, and tacky...like the trash on the ground. The same candy wrapper near our suite stayed there Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The first suite we got was The Oriental, dark, depressing red and black. The only oriental thing we saw were fans and some perhaps Chinese words on little red wall hangings. Nothing "luxurious." We sat in the room for a few minutes, trying to reconcile our memories of the Bensalem and Cherry Hill Inn of the Dove locations, but there was an obvious disconnect. My guy walked up to the office and we got another suite, The Italian. I'm not sure what was Italian about it....but it wasn't dark and depressing, so we decided to stay. The sheets seemed clean and fresh... The microwave sparked when I tried to use it...scary!!! In the fridge were two cans of Brand X cola (a brand I never heard of) and two bottles of water, both probably from the dollar store... On top of the fridge were two tiny (25 cent size) bags of potato chips. I could echo the review by BobM - the bars of soap were microscopic. The grout in the shower needed cleaning, and the shower did not drain well, leaving us standing in questionable lukewarm water. There were no tissues in the tissue holder in the wall. An unwrapped extra roll of toilet paper had been placed atop the toilet tank. The bed skirt was ripped, the comforter had what looked like cigarette burns. Some of the walls and countertop surfaces were damaged. The air conditioning unit was very noisy. The jacuzzi was nice, but you couldn't see the TV while you were in it because of the angle. And there was no bathmat until we asked for one. Although we managed to have a good time, we both felt that our suite - or the hotel overall - did not live up to the website pictures and descriptions. It did not remotely feel luxurious, and was nowhere near worth what they charged. We had more fun shopping at the AC outlets, playing the slots, and eating in a variety of restaurants. We would never stay in this place again.
For the part below...WHAT POOL? WHAT FITNESS CENTER?
...and....WHAT, NO WIFI?????

My husband and I wanted an anniversary get away,,,, and thought this place would be a nice alternative to a regular hotel room... plus it is right outside of AC,,the website looked inviting!!!
When we got to the hotel we thought it was odd there were no other cars in the parking lot.. The landscaping around the building was non existant like they cut everything down.. weeds grew between the sidewalk panels,,, strange ....
We checked in and got to our room which was kinda an oriental theme... red and black,
The room was huge with a king size bed . The jacuzzi was in the corner surronunded by mirrors . At first glance I was taken back I think by the color of the room..dramaticly dark which probably was for the best!
Overall the room was clean however run down.. Cracks and missing tiles in the jacuzzi area, missing decorations on the walls , (you could see where oriental fans should have been from exposed nails in the walls) also the shower was in need of TLC<<< the tiles mildewed and looked like some were falling off the walls
The staff was helpful... we couldnt figure out the TV and he gladly came to our room to show us how to use the remote for the porn channels ..telling us there was no extra charge for this!
After that we realized this place is probably used hourly,,,
We did enjoy the mirrors on the ceiling of the bed area... and kinda got into the spirit of the whole atmosphere! Would I stay here again??? Probably not unless they fix all the problems and spruce up the place,,,
AN experience I most likely will never forget....
i do not mean this in a bad negative way,,,we did have fun there! I have never stayed in a room quite like that ,,,,,,
