This is my 3rd visit here which means that I am happy with what I get for my money. I usually vote with my feet if I don't get what I believe to be good value for money.

Situated minutes from EWR International and opposite Jersey Gardens Outlet Mall and selection (not vaste) of places to eat/drink this is an ideal overnight-er if travelling or wanting to dent the Amex at the Mall which in itself has a good selection of shops.

The hotel staff are always friendly and helpful and the "big guy" (forget his name) at breakfast has a smile to kick off your day! Breakfast is simple as is the selection of other meals but then just pop down to Ruby Tuesday's in that case (you'll walk it in two!) or the mall (that'll take five!).

It is a bit out of the way so you'll need transport if staying there longer than a night. To get to downtown NY take their airport shuttle to EWR and catch the AirTrain to Penn Station, NY. You'll do it in under an hour and is inexpensive and hassle free.

Hotel summary: Good value, friendly staff even if the hotel is looking a little tired

Room Tip: There is no "good room " side to things here! They are all the same.

Property is about 20 minutes from Liberty Airport. The shuttle runs 24 hours (from airport to hotel every 1/2 hour). Very clean and neat as expected with Marriott properties. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was perfect and there were absolutely no complaints on my part.

Stayed here for 1 night after spending 6 nights in manhattan. Only stayed here to go to jersey gardens shopping mall and check out next day to go to the airport in the afternoon. The room was freezing had to call reception and they sent an engineer up. Obviously didn't work but we didn't see the point in calling him again so we wrapped up well for the icy temps. Area wasn't so great either but as I said it was only to shop and leave next day for airport. The check in staff were lovely. Wouldn't recommend to anyone unless you really have to . Was glad to leave. Free shuttle to airport stops at mall too we got the bus over from the mall on arrival the driver was a horrible ignorant man drove at break neck speeds there was no need for it . I think his name was Angel. The driver on the way to airport following day was not as bad .

From the Newark airport the vans run every 20 and 50 past the hour from the hotel shuttle pick up point, P-4. Unlike some hotels they will not pick you up from your arrival terminal. Van ride take about 15-20 minutes to get to the hotel, traffic depending.

Upon arrival the hotel was busy with about 10 people checking in with only one person working the front desk. The lobby is up to date with a small bar and snack stand type area that is pricy.

The room was clean and normal sized. I had a room with a double queen bed. Room had flat screen tv and bathroom was stocked including Paul Mitchell hair products.

There is a mall nearby that you could possibly walk to.

Due to Port Authority regulations we are not allowed to drop off nor pick up at the airport terminals. We (4 ladies) stayed here in 2 rooms for 3 nights just before New Year.
First, yes there is a shuttle from the airport but it only runs from one place and we struggled there with a trolley full of luggage that didn't easily fit in the lift or on the train! By the time we'd got to the correct place and then waited a while we wished we'd shared a large taxi.
Check in was fine, nothing special, no can I help you with any information etc.
We had a package including breakfast but there isn't really a restaurant, just a coffee bar. Once we'd worked out which items we could have off the breakfast menu we ate well.
The following day we wanted to get to the car hire centre, so had to take the shuttle to the allocated stop, then the train to the car hire place. (We drove past the car hire centre but the bus didn't stop there.)
After a day shopping we were looking forward to a swim, so changed and went down to the pool. The water was freezing and a light had fallen off the pool wall into the water exposing the wire. We didn't swim, a disappointment as we had booked this hotel specifically because of the pool. When we spoke to a maintenance man about this he apologised and said he would try and make the pool warmer for the following day. (It wasn't.) We tried to speak to reception about the problems with the pool, they said they'd look into it and call us. (They never did.)
Good points, you can walk to a Ruby Tuesdays and International house of Pancakes restaurants. You can also walk to the Jersey Gardens Outlet mall, but we needed the car for all our purchases!
Would we stay again, probably but if the price was better at one of the neighbouring hotels we would stay there.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the mall side, not the railway/highway side unless you like train spotting!

The Bistro Café is an "a la carte" restaurant with freshly made items including Starbucks and a variety of breakfast options. Our swimming pool had a defective heating element which has been repaired once the part arrived.

I stayed here for 2 nights on a shopping trip and the hotel is in a great location. This is the second time I have stayed here & the rooms are very spacious and the beds very comfortable. There were 3 of us in a room with two double beds and the rooms are very clean and the bathroom a good size with a powerful shower. You can walk to the Jersey Gardens outlet mall or the hotel offers a shuttle service. There are restaurants to walk to for breakfast and dinner and the drive into the city is only about 45 minutes away. It is very close to the airport and you can use the shuttle. The staff are always very friendly and we will be returning again this year.

We stayed at this hotel the night before our flight home, as it was very close to the airport and offers a shuttle service 24 hours a day and thus is handy when you have a very early flight. on arrival we were met by smiling and helpful staff who made us very welcome. The rooms are spacious, clean and in good order. The hotel offers a limited restaurant service for all meals and although we didn't use it, it was relatively busy when open. Sadly it wasn't open for coffee at 4.30 in the morning when we needed it, nor was there anywhere else in the hotel to get a coffee for the early leavers, I understand the economics behind this, but a coffee vending machine might be a useful addition to the lobby!! Considering how close the hotel is to the airport and flight path you don't hear a thing - perhaps I'm going deaf in my old age?

There are plenty of restaurants within a 15 minute walk and indeed Ruby Tuesdays, only 2 minutes from the hotel, offers a reasonable selection of American fare, if you can face another burger/sandwich before you leave the US shores. Similarly, for those who want to bag a final bargain before you fly, there is the New Jersey Gardens Outlet Mall just a short walk away.

Would I stay here again when I fly out of Newark, the answer is a resounding yes, but next time I would book directly with the hotel and not use one of the "big" booking agents, as it is cheaper to book yourself.
