“Homemade sandwiches and soups”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 December 2013

We stopped for soup and sandwiches on a cool evening. I had the campfire chili and grilled cheese sandwich, with bacon. My wife had the cream of broccoli soup and a slice of the fresh baked quiche. We also got a side of the home made French fries. I liked the chili, but anyone that likes spicy chili would be disappointed, as it was really mild just the way I like it. The only complaint that we had, was that the quiche and the broccoli soup could have been hotter. One last comment is, the dinning area was on the cool side. Our server was very friendly and very attentive.

“A little disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 September 2013

I've eaten here before, had a salad, which was excellent and since my husband and I were passing by, decided to stop in for lunch. I ordered a bowl of Chicken and Rice Soup. The soup was 80% rice with the rest being celery, corn, peas and carrots in a chicken broth. Maybe this soup was not to have any chicken but with the soup called Chicken and Rice, I thought there would be some amount of chicken. There was none to be found. Needless to say I was disappointed.

The service was good and we didn't have to wait very long for our order to arrive.
The desserts are excellent.

“Diamond in the rough”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 August 2013 via mobile

The building is charming, the merchandise in the market is eclectic and the food is fresh and inventive. This place is worth a drive for a pleasant lunch. Great choice of soups, salads, and sandwiches as well as daily specials. Atmosphere is very casual and service, although always pleasant, can be slow. Don't leave without taking home some of their on site aged sharp cheddar!

“Stick to sandwiches and salads”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2013 via mobile

After stopping at this half way point between our Jersey shore house and PA home many times for lunch, we tried a dinner on a Monday evening. We tried two dinner specials. Even though there were few customers, the dinner took nearly an hour to arrive to arrive. The food was mediocre, and one of the orders was wrong. From now on, only lunch items for us.

“Great little place for lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2013

Stopped in for lunch with a bottle of wine from the Monroeville Winery just 5 minutes up the road from Dodges. Great food and service! Friendly and attentive staff. A nice variety of choices on the menu. Recommend Dodges for a nice relaxing bite.
