“Always great!”
Reviewed 4 January 2014 via mobile

We've been here so many times over the past few years and have always enjoyed our meals. Even when we brought a vegetarian with us they made her something incredible! Peter (the waiter) treats you like family. Try the pork and clams or just about everything on the specials menu.

“Friendly Atmosphere, Great Menu, Tasty & Authentic Food”
Reviewed 17 November 2013

This restaurant may looking unassuming from the outside, but walk in the door and you will find yourself in an attractive, well-designed restaurant to be warmly welcomed by the friendly chef-owner, Anna.

The menu is surprisingly large and diverse, offering excellent, authentic Portuguese food plus continental and American dishes served up plentifully with fresh ingredients and noteworthy culinary verve.

As examples, there are three different kinds of paella, each one pleasantly spiced, very tasty and loaded with delicious helpings of meat, seafood and vegetables. The seafood is exceptionally fresh and well-prepared in a range of styles to suit different tastes.

I sampled two of the chicken dishes and found them very tender and tasty, a comment I would make about everything ordered by the dozen or so people in our group, based on their very positive comments. From soup to dessert, we had an excellent lunch topped off with Anna's delicious pastries and, for those who still had room to indulge, one of the best flans you'll find anywhere.

Prices, considering both the quantity and the quality of the offerings, were quite modest. And the atmosphere was so pleasant, with Anna presiding over every part of this long, enjoyable meal, that I will make it a point to return when I am next in the area. It's worth the drive, even if you're not close-by, and it won't empty your wallet to dine there.

“If you appreciate authentic fine dining, you will love this place!”
Reviewed 2 March 2013

I saw some negative reviews so I was weary, but after last night I know this place is excellent! Unfortunately I think anyone who wrote a negative review doesn't appreciate this type of authenticity. I can see why the owner would be annoyed if you complained about the food because this is as real as it gets, that would be the equivalent of going to someone's grandmothers home and telling her you don't like the food! The portions are huge and everything is fantastic quality. The staff is very friendly, but they are the real deal as well. They treat you almost like family, and are very appeasing. The place was packed when we went and everyone in there was enjoying their meal. This is a really great place to go for a night out, you will get an amazing meal and have a really good time.

“Fabulous food”
Reviewed 23 February 2013

This restaurant never fails to please. We brought friends for their first time. They both kept exclaiming how good the food tasted. This is the best Portugese food we have eaten outside of Portugal. Last night I had a steak with bacon and egg on it. It was delicious. If you like Portugese food, or ever thought of trying it. This is the place to go.

“Not like Newark”
Reviewed 31 December 2012

We've been to this restaurant on at least three different occasions; I kept thinking that it would get better. Not! The food is expensive, and not as good as the Portuguese grills/restaurants in Newark.
