Just had dinner there last nite: from the steaming basket of bread with the infused garlic oil to the expresso dessert.. it was an awesome birthday meal. Staff is superb: from Silvia, Frank (our waiter) Ivan, Ben and Wyatt. The owner, Giorgio, came to our table and welcomed us to his restaurant. TRY IT SOON!!!

We have dined at Solo's many times and never went away disappointed. Tonight, all four of us found our meal to be less than satisfactory. Two of us ordered an octopus salad. The waiter delivered fried Calmari. When questioned, he informed us that they did not have any octopus salad on the menu. Do you think he might have mentioned that when he took the order rather than delivering the calmari. Our friends accepted it because it was fantastic the last time we came here. There were three orders now on the table and none of us found it be acceptable. Our local pizza parlor was better. My veal in lemon sauce was passable but the linguini was soggy and tasteless. There were no raves for any of the entrees. The only redeeming feature of the night was our company and the chocolate gelato. I don't know if they got a new cook or weekdays are the wrong night to go, but I am not sure if we will now ever go back.

Service was spotty. At times, we were rushed and other times we couldn't find our waiter.

PS. They no longer accept any coupons bought from restaurant.com.

Solo Trattoria's menu is an admirable combination of authenticity and modernity. The pasta dishes are uniformly excellent. The five items on the "Cucina Classica" subsection of the pasta menu are are a highlight; the lasagna alla Emiliana, with its delicate layers of thin egg pasta interspersed with besciamella and ragu bolognese, is quite a revelation to anyone expecting the doughy, over-sauced versions served up in most places. Solo's pizzas are also excellent. The pace can be a bit bustling and harried at peak times, but service is congenial, and owner Giorgio is a very welcoming, affable host.

We have been to this restaurant many times. Everything on the menu is great. The owner is friendly and makes a point to remember repeat customers. Try the Veal Milanese - it is crispy fried with the right mix of tomatoes, garlic, onions and arugula on top. Large enough to have another meal in leftovers! They serve the porterhouse on a cutting board, which is a nice touch. The dinner salads are also great. Can't go wrong!

Local Italian restaurant with decent food, served by a sometimes clumsy staff.
They do a good business and the pasta, meats and such are plentiful but not memorable. Average at average prices.
Coffee was rough. If you find a discount or cannot get into some other place, it's not a bad choice.
