stayed here over memorial day weekend. The facility is new, beautiful and clean. But the personnel made the stay. Danny and Tony were full of great suggestions of where to eat and how to get where we wanted to go. Local transport to train, bus and plane as well as recommended dining spots. The hot breakfast was as expected, eggs, waffles etc and all the normal continental items. Everything was great, and we would stay here again for it convenience to NYC...didn't think this was going to be a great location, but I was pleasantly surprised...

Room Tip: Book early and use the AAA discount.

My friends and I stayed at the Hampton Inn in May 2011. We used this hotel as a base to get into NYC. The shuttle drivers are fantastic. The shuttle runs essentially on demand until 11 PM at night. They take you to Penn Station, and then for $1.75 you can take the PATH train to the World Trade Center which is a 25 minute ride. The PATH trains run 24 hours a day, and if you miss the shuttle after 11, cabs are plentiful!

The room was very clean and everyone was friendly. We had a studio suite overlooking the river which was nice. We had a small fridge and microwave. My only complaint about the room was we had a 25 inch tube tv. The room looked recently remodled or built, you would expect a flat screen. Breakfast was ok. Eggs/sausage one day, and egg bakes (on a bagel) another. Waffles are always available. Dunkin Donuts, Popeyes Chicken/Buscits, are across the street, and there is a diner less than a mile down the road. There is an indoor pool and workout facility there, which we did not use. I wouldnt walk far around the hotel. The area looks a little sketchy, and the shuttle is free!

Overall this was a great experience and a great, economical solution for visiting New York City.

The hotel was very nice once you are inside. The staff we encountered were very friendly. The surrounding area has a slight industrial feel to it because of the businesses surrounding the area and the look of the bridges over the river. Our room was directly next to the elevator and it, and the people getting on/off, could be heard in our room.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the elevator.

Stayed here for a couple of nights while on a business trip to Newark. It is right on the Passaic River, just across one of the several bridges from Newark. The hotel has a tight parking lot, but nicely maintained, with relatively easy access from I280 and the Turnpike.

The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating Check in was thorough and fast. The room was clean, roomy and had a mini-fridge and microwave, Some of the furniture was a bit beat up, but not bad or in disrepair... just nicks and chips... The bedding was clean and comfortable.

The breakfast area was reasonably sized. It had the normal choices of fruits, cereal, a cooked egg selection and 2 waffle makers. Despite a large breakfast crowd, the staff there did a remarkable job of keeping the items stocked, and tables clean. The mgmt also devoted more people to the care of this than I have ever seen.

The only caution I would have is that the commuter trains go across a bridge not far from the hotel. It took me awhile to figure out the noise.. I thought it was approaching thunder.. So, it you want to sleep early, or sleep in.... you may want to keep that in mind if you are a light sleeper.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights with family for our first ever trip to NYC and it was a great experience. Their shuttle service is the BEST and runs until 11 pm at night. We left the hotel early every morning to NYC and came back at night. The breakfast is awesome but get there early as it tends to get a bit crowded if you are late. Free WiFi and a couple of computers are also available for business. Although, it is more of a family styled hotel. We saw a lot of other families staying there too.
