My husband and I love Cuban food. Because of it's location (Atlantic Highlands has mostly American restaurants) we weren't expecting much from the experience, but were pleasantly blown away. We have gone back many times and can compare it to Miami's standards. We always get the appetizer sampler and move on to our favorites dishes on the menu which include the classics Ropa Vieja and Lechon Assado, and sometimes they have this thick T-bone steak special with crushed garlic that is absolutely delicious. Make sure you call ahead because they are only open on select days and hours. By far the most flavorful dishes in the area!

Came here the first time with friends and family in a large group. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in...the atmosphere was very charming and the covered, outside seating area was very large with koi pond, tiki torches and chimenea's burning. It creates a great ambiance.
The owner is always around, greeting everyone as if you are joining him in his home. We had a reservation which I highly recommend on the weekend. We ordered a lot of apps for a large crowd. Although good it brought the bill up quite a bit.

The food was fabulous and the sangria was lovely! I requested an appetizer for my dinner (Masitas - pork chunks) and they were amazing. I often order this at other Cuban restaurants and they are often over cooked and dry...not here, flavorful, moist and yummy! My husband always orders steak and it was perfectly cooked and plentiful. White rice with Black beans on the side, delicious! Congri (black rice w beans) was great (I don't usually like it and it was very, very good).

The service is great as well. Lovely staff that is very attentive. The owner always stopping by to check on things too! Nice touch. Music on the weekends is great, a nice mix of Latin and American classics. Dancing too!

Overall we enjoyed it so much we've been back several times and sat at the bar to eat and enjoy a few cocktails. The service is just as good there!
Highly recommend for a fun night with friends, a celebration with family, a romantic dinner with someone special or sitting at the bar alone or with a friend. This place offers something for everyone. Highly recommend.

We live really close by and have been supporters of this place through both of their hurricane closures. We went this past Saturday night and were blown away! The music, which on this night was a Latin band was phenomenal! The food, seems better than ever- each and every dish was delicious- we love the pork chunks with garlic sauce!! Also, new bartender Gerri makes incredible drinks including her famous chocolate martini!

Get to this place. You don't feel like you're in Highlands NJ at all, but in some sophisticated restaurant in the Caribbean. Great!!!

We've eaten here many times and are very glad they have reopened after Hurricane Sandy. Two of our many favorites on the menu are the Cubana sandwich and the Paella. The atmosphere feels like you are in the Cuba scene in Guys and Dolls :-) Service is prompt and very friendly, and the entertainment comes in all types and styles and is always good. Were happy to ring in the New Year here, on the new dance floor. Stop in for a Mojito, and say welcome back!

Like a phoenix out of the ashes of Hurricane Sandy, Havana has reopened this past Friday and will be open for Labor Day weekend. We stopped by and had a Cuban sandwich and some mojitos and were in a Cuban Nirvana, felt like Casablanca! The sandwich was HUGE and authentic Cuban style. Also tried the caramel flan which was rich and smoothe! We are DEFINITELY putting this restaurant on our return visit list!!!
