This was always our favorite place to go. The last two vists our dinner was not very good. The Mussles were frozen and hard and the fish dinners appear to be frozen and heated. The Inlets food was always good and consistent but this is no longer true. Not sure what happeedn but we now go to Pazo's in Red Bank and also Basil T. Their food is always consistent and the seafood always fresh. I heard this same thing from two other friends of mine that use to love the Inlet.

I hope the Inlet resolves this.

“Fun atmosphere, mediocre food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014

We dined here on a Sunday night and it was packed - and so was the neighboring Wind and Sea with a really loud Jersey=based rock n' roll band. We were really happy when they stopped playing so we could hear ourselves talking.

Our waitress was obviously tired and had worked a long day. We asked for the Steamers and she said they were out. It really was one of the few things we were interested in. After we had placed our order, we looked over at the next table and saw that they had a big bowl of clams so we asked her what they were eating and she said "little necks", as though we were idiots. And she said how good they were and came from right out in the bay!! We asked why she hadn't mentioned that and she got very defensive. So we ordered them and they were the best part of the meal. The lobster bisque was way too thick - could have been a sauce for a steak! I had the seafood salad which was clean and non offensive, but all in all our bill including a $30 bottle of wine came to $100 including tip - so - nice location but pretty so so food.

“Great View/Good Getaway”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

If you eat here eat at the outside bar, or on outside patio. I've only had apps, but so far so good.
I prefer the bar, especially during Happy Hour.Service gets a little crazy when too busy, probably need another bartender, or a second-one with a little more pizzazz. The crowd is friendly. So far I've had the mussels, calamari, and the clams on 1/2 shell. I haven't been disappointed yet, except with the clams. I ordered little neck, and got close to cherry stones; otherwise it was great.
