The service was wonderful, beautiful afternoon on the Ocean. A long time favorite of the area did not disappoint. Steamers and crab/lobster soup were outstanding.

Sitting on the outdoor patio you can enjoy a great view of Sandy Hook and the wonderful NYC skyline. The band music coming from the Wind & Sea next door is most enjoyable. I had the lobster roll with nice sized chunks of delicious lobster. My husband's fried flounder was very good but could have included an extra piece for the price. Some menu items are overpriced. They do make the best coleslaw in NJ which requires a second helping. It's a nice casual place for an enjoyable meal at the Jersey Shore.

This place does have a wonderful location , a great atmosphere, and very good service.
And that is were it ends. The food is mediocre, pricy, and uninspiring. You think by going down
The shore the seafood would be top quality and creative , wrong again. I noticed that
If you want good seafood at a great price, you need to visit a Portuguese or Spanish restaurant.
Again, if you are going for a couple drinks and great atmosphere, this is the place.

This was always our favorite place to go. The last two vists our dinner was not very good. The Mussles were frozen and hard and the fish dinners appear to be frozen and heated. The Inlets food was always good and consistent but this is no longer true. Not sure what happeedn but we now go to Pazo's in Red Bank and also Basil T. Their food is always consistent and the seafood always fresh. I heard this same thing from two other friends of mine that use to love the Inlet.

I hope the Inlet resolves this.

We dined here on a Sunday night and it was packed - and so was the neighboring Wind and Sea with a really loud Jersey=based rock n' roll band. We were really happy when they stopped playing so we could hear ourselves talking.

Our waitress was obviously tired and had worked a long day. We asked for the Steamers and she said they were out. It really was one of the few things we were interested in. After we had placed our order, we looked over at the next table and saw that they had a big bowl of clams so we asked her what they were eating and she said "little necks", as though we were idiots. And she said how good they were and came from right out in the bay!! We asked why she hadn't mentioned that and she got very defensive. So we ordered them and they were the best part of the meal. The lobster bisque was way too thick - could have been a sauce for a steak! I had the seafood salad which was clean and non offensive, but all in all our bill including a $30 bottle of wine came to $100 including tip - so - nice location but pretty so so food.
