“Tasty dinner at historic Moravian grist mill”
Reviewed 16 August 2013

We were staying at the inn and as part of the Living Social coupon for 2 nights we had a $40 credit for meals. The grist mill has been beautifully restored with a travern on the lower level and a restaurant on the first level. You can order from either menu. Only 3 tables were occupied the night we were there. For starters we both had the best butternut squash soup we ever tasted (bowl was $8). There were out of crab mac and cheese which sounded good, so we had a very good chicken pot pie ($12.95) and a tasty snapper platter with mashed potatoes and vegetables ($23). A very filling, tasty meal.

“Tasty and filling”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

We tested our waitress' favorite dishes (Chicken Pot Pie and Crab Mac & Cheese) and were quite happy. We didn't ask her about the sweet potato appetizer, but should have. It was not so good. Little underdone.

“Great setting, but disappointing!”
Reviewed 6 June 2013

My husband and I wanted a nice dinner on the Sunday evening of Memorial Day weekend. We decided to try this restaurant, as we had not been here in a few years. It was fairly empty, on a beautiful evening in Hope, NJ. There were no specials at all, and the menu was very sparse. We ordered a bottle of Reisling, and the young waitress brought it, uncorked it, and poured. It was room temperature. I said "Oh no, this is warm". She said she knew, she just brought it up from the cellar. She did not offer to take it back, or apologize. My filet mignon was tender, but lukewarm. This may sound snobby, but this was a pretty expensive dinner. Needless to say, we won't be returning.

lovely setting in this rustic building. They even have a working stream downstairs. Go for meeting, but never eat here. Prices a little high for me

“Nice meal, good service”
Reviewed 4 November 2012

Needing a room during the power outage, we stayed at the Inn and dined here. Living in the area we had tried the restaurant a few times in the past but our last visit about 6-7 years ago wasn't memorable, so we never returned. Last night's meal changes my opinion. The setting is beautiful and the tavern room quaint. The food was good, the service good and it's reasonable for an occasional splurge. I'd return.
