“Best Food in Jersey City!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2014

Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in Jersey City...if not the state. Check out their menu on their website, and try not to drool on yourself. Great wine selection also. It is going to cost you over a hundred dollars with one bottle of wine. So its a place for that special occasion if this is a little pricey for your budget.

Its a block from Exchange Place train station, and the light rail is right at their front door. Super easy to commute to if you don't want to drive. I had the Short ribs and they were excellent! My date had the fish special, a Broncino dish, that was eqaully as terrific. So Enjoy!

“Another Winner by Michael Cetrulo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014

We dined on Saturday evening at Porto Leggero, another great restaurant owned by Chef Cetrulo. I had the Bronzino Livornese which was fresh and delicious with just the right balance of capers and olives. My husband had the special, the roasted Alaskan king salmon which was also moist and flavorful. The prices are average for NJ and the potions, just right. The desserts were equally decadent. I had the chocolate painted phyllo filled with chocolate mousse and whipped cream (also my favorite at Il Mondo Vecchio) and my husband enjoyed the tiramisu complimented with an amaretto laced vanilla gelato. I would have given this restaurant 5 stars, except for one small criticism - the Italian bread. Jersey City has some of the oldest and best bread bakeries in NJ, and I think they need to find a better supplier. Hint: try Pecoraro's downtown. The waiter was attentive, but not obtrusive, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. This restaurant is top notch!

“Some things excellent, some not so much”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2014

After reading all the glowing reviews, I was a bit disappointed. If we had stopped after the antipasti and primo my opinion would be much better. But the secondo seemed average.
I had a chicken dish in which the chicken was slightly overcooked and was served with what looked like oversized French fries. Maybe I just ordered wrong? But should there be a wrong in a highly rated restaurant? I also didn't like that the host uncorked the wine in the kitchen and served it in a carafe??? Not so sure what that was all about. But I was not the one who ordered the wine. Table servers did a fine job. Maybe my opinion is a little jaundiced because I had just gotten back from a trip to Italy.

“A ten plus”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2014 via mobile

Recommended by the bartender at the Hyatt, this restaurant is convenient to the Rapid and has no view. Instead, it has awesome service, a great menu, a great wine list and the prices are reasonable. It is worth a trip to Jersey City for a great dinner experience.
