“Great hotel!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 August 2013

We recently stayed at this hotel for a weekend trip to NYC. What a beautiful place! The view from everywhere in the hotel was phenominal! Our room was very clean and the beds were super plush and comfortable. The most convenient thing was that the hotel was right next door to the PATH station that takes you over to the World Trade Center. The people at the front desk were very helpful, giving us PATH train schedules and NYC maps. We did eat at the hotel bar and it was a bit pricey. We didn't eat breakfast there...instead walked right next door to the Starbucks. Overall, fantastic stay!

Professional staff, extremely helpful concierge, great location and view of the skyline. Quite reasonably priced too! At the WTC in 5 min on Path train. Rooms were clean and fairly spacious. We would definitely return!

Hubby surprised me by extending our stay in the NJ area (we were visiting NYC) by one night to stay at this hotel which had awesome views of the Hudson and Manhattan skyline. We checked out of our other hotel and had no problems checking in early here, which was nice. We spent most of the day in NYC and came back ready to relax and enjoy our last night in the city. Unfortunately upon check in we were not advised that a wedding reception was being held on the 9th floor ballroom that particular evening when we were placed on the 7th floor. I have extremely sensitive ears to certain pitches and the DJ music rumbling through the floor and walls was just too much. We called the front desk and they said they would call up there and have them turn down the music. I don't know if they called or not but the music wasn't adjusted at all. We were very disappointed. It seemed like the (probable) large amount of money that couple paid to rent out the top floor of the hotel for the night was more important than the rest of us who had to endure the noise.

That being said, after 2 phone calls and a visit to the front desk, they did move us to an awesome suite on the 2nd floor but neglected to tell the bellman who was sent to assist us with luggage that we were moving; he thought we were checking out, which was another disappointment. A few phone calls later, he was able to take us to our new room but he had to come back later with the new keys. He agreed with us as he was taking us to the new room that the music was too much even on the 7th floor. I can't imagine the poor people on the 8th floor! The new room was amazing but we got there around 9:30 p.m. and really didn't get to enjoy it. We kept the curtains open to gaze at the beautiful skyline until we fell asleep. Left by 7:30 the next morning to drive home.

We are Gold Passport members and Hyatt Consumer Affairs was quick to offer some compensation for this stay that was not up to Hyatt standards, according to the gal I spoke with. I was hoping the hotel would perhaps take some off our breakfast bill ($46 for 2 buffets) or valet parking ($32) but the check out clerk only wanted to talk about how she was from the state above where we were heading back to home. Again, kinda disappointing.

The views were amazing from the new room and the pier/boardwalk but the pool was very small (unlike how it looks in the pictures) and everyone walking by gets a full-on view of the pool since it is on ground level (but behind glass) which was really creepy for me.

Very close access to the PATH train was awesome. We ate at the City Diner just a block or so away per recommendation from the front desk. It was wonderful!

Overall, it was a nice place. Just too bad the wedding took precedence over regular guests.

We attended a family wedding and the entire experience was fantastic. The food, the service the views were great! The cocktail party provided views of the NY skyline that were postcard views. I did not think they could get any better. However, when we were moved to the 9th floor for the wedding reception, the views of the skyline, lit up, were even better. I would highly recommend this location. It was a wonderful experience.

It was scheduled to speak at a customer event in this Hyatt hotel in Jersey and was pleasantly surprised by the nice facility and view as well as excellent service. In addition to the normal great service, the staff helped me ship something home by FEDEX and made sure it was sent the day of arrival.

We stayed at the Hyatt on the Hudson as a small way to celebrate our recent marriage and civil ceremony. The food was great, the hotel is clean and extremely affordable and upon arriving they provided us with a complimentary upgrade to one of the best rooms in the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to stay in the NYC area and get a quality hotel experience for a fraction of the price.
