The hotel is situated just across the Hudson River from NYC, just steps away from a PATH train station which whisks you to the World Trade Center PATH station in 3 minutes. The Hyatt has larger than usual rooms, is quite clean and the staff is very helpful.

Its Vu restaurant features floor to ceiling windows with incredible views of NYC. We enjoyed a sumptuous Mother's Day Brunch there. The buffet was excellent, as was the service.

The hotel is positioned off the Hudson providing a wonderful view of New York City. The hotel was clean and provided a very attentive staff. A boat tour off the harbor and around Liberty Island was fantastic. You have a direct view of the Freedom tower and you can see the entire skyline.

We stayed ( with my husband & my daughter ) in Hyatt for 3 nights and had an amazing time .
We arrived at 10 am , although check-in time was at 4 pm , the amazing front desk prepare our room with a great view of river in 8th floor at the time of arrival.
Excellent services from Front desk, restaurant crews, concierge …….
It was our first trip to New York and we didn’t know where to start. Barron from concierge with nice smile patiently helped us to organize our adventure, he is amazing. We bought a ticket for Statue Liberty from him and start our first day.
The hotel’s breakfast is very good with a great view of Manhattan. You can either order from Menu or go with Buffet. They make an omelet as you like (in buffet) only Saturday and Sunday, weekdays it is been cooked in kitchen.
There are many restaurants around the hotel and you can ask from front desk for a list (all walking distance).
We tried City Walk and Chili (Chili is not on the list, ask for direction from hotel personal) and both had testy food & proper services at reasonable price.
There is a very good shopping Mall “NEWPORT Center” which is only 15 min walk from hotel (no need for taxi).
As per other review, Ferry is less than 5 min walk, and path station is beside the hotel but it closed during weekend.
We took Path station to Newark airport and it was very easy and convinces .it took only 45 min.

Over all , I highly recommend this hotel and I definably will stay in this hotel in our next trip to New York.

So I got over my fixation with staying "in the city" and chose the Hyatt Regency this time. And what a good decision it turned out to be. Larger rooms, cleaner surroundings, fantastic views from across the harbor. And with the path station next door, it hardly takes 10 mins to get to downtown.

The only thing to watch out for was that the exchange place path station was closed on weekends for renovation in 2014. But grove street is still conveniently close by.

The "package handling" charge of 4$ for receiving mail was a bit of a bummer though.

Room Tip: There are harbor facing and non facing rooms. Obviously the former have great views.

I would most definitely return. A great location for a trip to NYC, with convenient PATH and ferry. Quick trip to fabulous Hoboken restaurants via light rail. We had minimal complaints - car not ready when called ahead, room a bit too warm and controls not cooling adequately. Great views, even from a "standard" room. Good local outdoor space. We traveled for leisure, but it would be ideal for business travelers.

Room view great that there were no dressers Bad. I say a bit overpriced Hotel is outdated a bit old style bathrooms they could use a bit of upgrading. I have stayed in better Only the view was good. Staff were very helpful. Going over to NYC was very easy as ferry was right there close bye and so was the PATH train. I would advise if there go to City Dinner for Brkfst. Hotel is way over priced for example 2 eggs at 18 dollars lol. Having no dresser was a pain as I had to put my clothes in desk draw lol. I have been to many Hyatt's this was a disappointment But again the staff were Very Good and friendly which helped a lot as I have a NJ,NYC temper lol. and it did not go off.
