I've eaten at Thirty Acres now three times and each instance has been an eye opener in what new cuisine can bring to the table. Some items or combinations may seem odd at first but make inspired ensembles that do good things in the mouth. For a couple of very young chefs just starting out what's been achieved is remarkable and very, very promising.

This place looks like it should be an amazing foodie experience, with everything locally sourced and all sorts of complicated items on the menu. But both entrees we tried were just OK. Menu is limited. Atmosphere is nice but not out-of-this-world - the place is small but doesn't feel cramped - they did a very good job of laying out the space.

The food is "good" but since it is no longer byob I wont go. Portions are small and the price is sky high. Staff are ok but dont go out of there way to help. I brought my bottle of wine as I always had done and the server said they stoped byob the day before. To uncork my bottle it would be $20. Yes this is the day after they switched over.

Thirty Acres is a fabulous addition to Jersey City. We have visited thrice thus far in the last month and a half, and will probably make this a regular addition to our dining out roster. Their vegetarian option - in this month's case - the capelletti with hazelnuts, ricotta and basil, is elegant, with the right amount of creaminess (from the ricotta) and crunch (hazelnuts). It's perfectly seasoned (fresh basil) and we could really order it every single time.

The combination of ingredients want for nothing else and that's what we love about Thirty Acres. The lemon bar and the olive oil cake are sublime. Not too sweet but with the right amount of richness to make you feel like you are indeed indulging in something quite special.

It's wonderful to visit a restaurant where the desserts are as exemplary as the appetizers and mains. The food and wine deliver excellent consistency, in a lovely, warm, laid-back setting. The restaurant itself is understated but like the food, perfectly delicious in its elegant simplicity.

The only bad news about this restaurant is that you often have to wait because it is quite small. The good news is, it is worth the wait for the exceptional food served here. You have to BYOB and there is a perfectly good liquor store just around the corner where you can get something of your choice before placing your order.

This restaurant is an absolute joy to visit with its perfect atmosphere and quality standards. You are encouraged to share different dishes so that you can have a taste of a variety. The staff here are knowledgeable about the menu items and the ingredients they contain. Service is constant and seems to be a priority. 30 Acres is a great cozy venue with a very creative menu. Great place to eat.
