The exhibits are well maintained, colorful and engageing. older teens will be BORED. If you have older teens, besure to get an IMAX ticket, the dome theater is great. ehibits are very interactive, geared more towards tweens and below. The tamarans are a don't miss, and the gift shop prices were a pleasant surprise. high quality shirts, stuffed toys etc as well as science geared toys all VERY reasonably priced. You wont break the bank bringing home a special reminder. Parking is 7 dollars a day not too bad but get there early,it fills up fast,

now for the bad. the café. the food esp thebaked treats and pizza are generous size and fairly priced. the rest is NOT. A HOTDOG chips and a drink runs about 11 dollars. The woman making the pizza at lightening speed stopped when a teen asked her about the ingrediants as he had an allergy. she stopped and spke with him, actually took the moment to speak to him. very professional, clean and nice. the Asian woman at check out day one was extremely nice, charming and friendly. The cafeteria manager on the other hand was best described as Nazi. Rude, mouthy she actually spread her arms out to block a woman from walking to her child. the woman said, that is my daughter I need to speakto. she blocked the woman and said there is a line ma'am . the woman said " u want me to stand in 100 plus person deep line, to hand my child who is 12 feet behind you her lunchmoney.this horrible manager kept her arms up and said yes. the woman said"that is my kid. MOVE" and she finally moved . Day 2 I was accosted by her myself. she kept screaming "left for grill right for cold" We were gtting a hot dog. She said " whereare u going" I stated the grill line, we are gtting a hot dog. She threw her arms up ,and stated. no, you need to go to the coldline and attempted to corral me. I had a tray in my hand, turned the the couple behind me, who were also appaled bby this woman and said " if this b?tch doesn't put her hands down im knocking her out with this tray. " She moved. Her dress was extremely tight, and short electric blue. She was so offensive, not only did I not go back, several others avoided the café as well.

That being said, lets talk the "bad"

“Great place, but..”
Reviewed 4 August 2014 via mobile

I visted with my girlfriend and 4 year old stepdaughter. The grounds are nice, the facility is large with plenty to do, but a 4 year old gets bored rather quickly in the more scientific exhibits. But, for me, it was great. The animal exhibits are fascinating, and definitely spend the extra 5 or 6 bucks to see an imax film in the dome theater. Beware though if you're susceptible to motion sickness even though you don't move at all, you will feel like you are. All in all a great place, enjoy.

The best and most cost effective way to visit is by purchasing a membership pass which is for a year.
This is a great place for little kids and children who are able to focus on one activity for at least 5 mins other wise you be rooming the center bored. There are many displays and activity for the whole family, a nice cafe with extended hours in the summer. The movies is a must with older kids, with some membership packages you get free tickets. To make this visit fun for young kids you can walk out the center and ride the light rail.
Park in the science center, it is $7 but it is better than a ticket.

“Something for Everyone”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

Plan on spending a day at this amazing facility! From live animal exhibits, including a working beehive, to special exhibits (currently on the history of Rubik's Cube), most of it hands-on, there is a lot to take in. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and when the exhibit had a functioning hands-on component, they always worked properly.

“Incredibly well done!”
Reviewed 27 July 2014 via mobile

We really enjoyed the science center. However, we went with our 9 year old. The set up is no geared towards younger children: Slow elevators and exhibits that require more understanding thana 2-3 year old would have to interact. There is the Clifford the Big Red dog area....but for what you are paying there needs to be more for younger children.

Overall the exhibits were fun for adults and perfectly geared for a school aged child. However, I still felt the price was high for what they are offering.
