“Authentic Polish Cooking--and Really Cheap”
Reviewed 3 June 2012

The prices. It's hard to get a better meal really rapidly for under $10--including something to drink. Right by the Grove St PATH it's the best "fast food"--that is in absolutely no way fast food--that you can get. The woman who owns it rarely smiles and the plates and cutlery could not be much worse--and it's steam table food. But the owner (I assume she's the owner but not exactly a conversationalist and I never asked) can cook well enough so that even if the food has been sitting out for hours it's still all okay.

“Cant wait to go again”
Reviewed 19 March 2012

Growing up in this area of Jersey City the majority of inhabitants were from Poland including my family. I was a little hesitant from the outside to enter the diner. Once inside I still was unsure whether this was a diner or takeout. after reviewing the menu my daughter and I decided to stay the majority of food was visible and looked good. I ordered the combo plate. WOW the food was amazing ,the only thing was I wanted more!! Of course I bought 2 kelbasa to take home. Yes there is a deli also. I did not get to try was the potato pancakes, they obviously are the first to go.Don,t let the outside fool you the food is amazing.! No wait staff and a liquor store next door BOB. Atmosphere is not what you will get but great food you will.

“Authentic Polish food”
Reviewed 23 February 2012

I grew up in Chicago where there are tons of little places like this. Don't expect white linens - you come here for the authentic, no-nonsense Polish home cooking. Friendly service.

“Sava Polish Diner Deli & Meat Market”
Reviewed 29 March 2010

Tania' s has been gone for a while now. But now, right next door at 346 Grove, is SAVA Polish Diner. The lady who serves you is like your own grandma. Her food is fresh and delicious. They even have some night s with entertainment. The prices are amazingly reasonable. The Polish Combo can't be beat for value. but she's got a lot of great stuff and even deserts and Polish fruit juices. Where Tania's was is now a liquor store that even carries Polish beers and vodkas. I BYOB to SAVA sometimes myself. I hear there's Karaoke in there, and not bad at all. Go for the food anyway. The atmosphere is a bit simple and getting better, but the food makes up for it by far!
