Chimney Hill Estate & Ol' Barn Inn

We had a wonderfully relaxing and pleasant stay at the Inn. Eric and the staff are very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very good, and the room/bed were quite comfortable. Visiting the alpacas was a fun diversion, and there are many very good restaurants in the area.

We just returned from a Friday night stay at the Chimney Hill Estate Inn and it was fantastic. Those of you who go to Bed and Breakfast properties regularly know that they range considerably in terms of sophistication, ammenties, capable staff and "special touches." This one has it all.

We had a Groupon special and chose to stay in Barn Suite #4. The room was very charming: rustic feel, fireplace, spiral staircase, teak and mahogany furnishings, jacuzzi tub AND shower. If you can't kick start the romance in this room nothing will do it :). The main house is beautiful. When we arrived Friday afternoon there was wine and cheese next to the fireplace and mini cupcakes, cookies and coffee at the check-in area.

New Hope and Lambertville has an abundance of restaurant selections for dinner, dessert and drinks...maybe try several stops. We started at Antons at the Swan because that was part of the Groupon special, if you go here ask for a corner table. The menu is very limited but we both had steaks that were excellent. When the room is lit up at night with all the candles it is really nice, but this is not a spot to linger long. We drove around New Hope then had dessert at Lilly's on the Canal. The people next to us were having dinner and their dinner looked delicious.

In the morning we had breakfast at Chimney Hill and it was really tasty. Coffee/beverages are self serve and we had a sliced carmel apple starter followed by eggs, sausage and a blueberry pastry which was warm and buttery. Such a treat.

Check out is at 11am so we ended our stay by feeding the Alpacas which was super fun and then looking at some of the Alpaca made gifts in their store. I've read reviews complaining about the beds/linens...they are a little firm, and the TVs are a little old but honestly that is nitpicking when you consider the overall experience at this property. It is a romantic get away that we most certainly would do again soon.

Wow! My expectations were excited the moment I entered and was greeted by a warm and friendly member of the staff, Eric. He gave us a tour and told us to help ourselves to the wine and cheese that had just been put out for guests, as well as homemade cupcakes and cookies. Our room was cozy and secluded. The alpacas were sweet and friendly. The gourmet breakfast was very impressive. Loved it all and will be back!

My husband purchased an overnight package on Groupon for my birthday gift. It was an out of the park homerun! From the minute we arrived we were in awe. Eric..the innkeeper was very welcoming and knowlegeable. We stayed in Barn Suite 4..nicest room on the premises. It was very large, clean and romantic. The 2 sided fireplace and the jacuzzi were terrific. We loved the 2 person jacuzzi shower also. The loft bed and stairway made for a real treat! Anton's on the Swan served a delicious meal and we will return in warmer weather to visit their outdoor bar area. Breakfast was very good and the highlight was the alpacas and llamas~! Must say in 26 yrs of marriage this may be the best place we have ever stayed in!

Room Tip: w/o a doubt...Barn rm 4! Check Groupon for a great package deal..dinner credit of $50.00 , bottl...

There were wonderful features of this B&B including the service. Eric was most helpful. Breakfast was quite good. We liked feeding the alpacas and llamas and received two bags of food when we checked in. We also received a bottle of wine (which we have yet to open) and a $50 certificate to Anton's at the Swan. We stayed in the Barn and the room was clean. There was a tight spiral staircase to get to the sleeping area. What could have been improved was the bedding. The pillows were aged foam and the blanket was pilled and worn. There was a high chandelier that had light bulbs that were out. The two TVs were old and small although that did not matter so much. Because it was a Select Registry designated property, we came with high expectations that there was a fine attention to detail similar to other Select properties at which we have stayed. The property had its high and low points--fine overall, just not the quality that was suggested by its Select Registry designation. Note: There is a lovely French bakery, C'est La Vie, down an alley in nearby Hope, PA. It is small and may take some asking to find, but the effort pays off in spades. The croissants and sweet and savory pastries were exquisite to the max.

This was the third time we've been to this terrific B&B in lovely Lambertville, NJ. Accommodations were very nice. Breakfasts were special and service was excellent. The llamas and alpacas on premises were an added treat. Lots of great local restaurants, antiquing and shopping in Lambertville and across the bridge in New Hope.
