Description: The love of family, friends and great food is a tradition for the Egoavils.Having relocated to the United States from Peru in 1992, they sought the opportunities their new home offered. El Tule was previously the home of another restaurant offering Mexican fare. The Egoavil Family has infused the eatery with a vibe all its own. El-Tule’s Mexican-Latin fusion includes traditional Mexican offerings as well as the addition of Peruvian menu items. Peruvian food has been gaining momentum among foodies across the nation, and prior to El Tule was extremely hard to find in the Delaware Valley. El Tule offers both indoor and outdoor dining. Guests may bring their own wine or alcohol of choice. Our patio is dog friendly. *Taco Tuesdays* $3 Tacos Mix & Match ... Pollo, carne asada, al pastor, chorizo, sudadero, vegetable ... Add $1 for shrimp and red snapper tacos - minimum of 2 for offer. ... *Local Wednesday* Ask for our Prix fixe three course $25

The local buzz was encouraging and when a local restaurant owner mentioned that she wanted to try it, we moved El Tule from the back burner to the front. We read reviews and we saw some stumbles which were probably more relevant when the restaurant was in its infancy. So, we were ready for a long wait for a table (with reservations) and a lengthy wait for service. Neither happened. Although there were people waiting in line, our reservation for 2 was honored and we were seated within 5 minutes (or less). Our server, Cynthia, approached us right away. We had water, chips & salsa (delicious salsas, especially the hottest selection) very soon. We tried two appetizers, one with a melted cheese, meat & veggies and served with quartered tortillas --this was delicious. The other was made of mashed potatoes with olives, etc. filling. This one was not quite hot enough. The entrees were appetizing and tasty. We heard great feedback re the ceviche, but we would not order again (we didn't care for the texture--prefer uncooked fish in a tartare style). Dessert was fairly traditional and not what we would normally order in a restaurant, but we wanted to sample their offerings. Also, the portions were generous and we normally would not have ordered dessert. Ok, we didn't like everything, however, that was because we were not familiar with the menu and had never tried Peruvian cuisine. Our willingness to try dishes that are new to us will always have mixed results. Next time (and that we be quite soon), we will be less adventurous and order what we know we will like. Oh yes, the tables were a bit crowded and we were squeezed in--more cozy than an annoyance.

We look forward to our next visit.

Whenever attending a Rago Auction preview, lunch at El Tule is mandatory. Their food is uniformly delicious. The guacamole is as fresh as can be, chips made in house and three salsas. The bistec Mexicana comes in perhaps the finest salsa verde one can imagine redolent with flavors of jalapeno, tomatillo, and exotic spices. The ceviche is fresh and well marinated in lime and spices. The staff is young, energetic, welcoming and cheerful. It is BYOB but there is a wine store close by for those who like cerveza with their meal.

Very small, quaint dining area. Outdoor seating available. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. They start you off with a basket of chips with three salsas. All very light and flavorful. Entrees are plentiful in portion and made with the freshest ingredients. The Peruvian selections are absolutely delicious. I will definitely return. Nice place to go to in the summer where you can walk around Lambertville, shop and then dine outdoors.

Small, cozy, cheery, bright and most of all excellent and innovative Peruvian food!
BYOB is an added plus enabling you to bring your own Margaritas!

The variety of Ceviche is wonderful as are the authentic national Peruvian dishes.

Don't miss this one the next time you are in Lambertville!
