“Old World Bistro”
Reviewed 15 November 2013

I came for lunch with two friends on a summery day, which enabled us to sit out in the shady outside area. The food was lovely, and the server/somelier charming. A warm atmosphere for friends to have a leisurely lunch. The beet borscht---I still remember savoring every spoonful. I chose well. BYOB makes it more affordable too.

“Top Eatery in Lambertville, NJ”
Reviewed 13 November 2013

I have been to Hamilton's Grill Room a number of times and have never been dissapointed. The food, service and surroundings were perfect. It may be a bit difficult to find, but well worth it. It was not the weather to eat out, although when the weather is nice, it is a welcoming place to dine outside. That being said, the interior is cozy and eclectic. Chef Jim Hamilton knows his way around this patron's heart. From appetizer to dessert you can't do better

“Wait Staff must go”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

The food at HGR is good, but not remarkable. Unfortunately their wait staff is completely lacking in warmth or graciousness. The waiters seem to blame the patrons for their first career choice not working out.

“A Classic in the Country”
Reviewed 28 October 2013

My wife and I dined at Hamilton's twice in the past two weeks and numerous times over many years. The place is impressive in so many ways.

Hidden in a quiet courtyard the restaurant shares with the best quiet bar in town, guests are greeted at the door by a welcoming wood stove (in season) and a crisp and courteous manager who'll show you to a table. Outdoor dining is available when the weather permits, but inside you'll find several lovely small dining rooms, one of them a tiny space right in front of the grill chef who is cooking the fish and meat for the day's meals. The other rooms are decorated with classical murals and the glow of candles.

Our food choices lately have covered the menu. One night it was steak frites and a veal chop, the other visit included several different fish preparations for our group of six. There were several salad options including a lovely display of freshly prepared beets. There always seems to be at least one vegetarian entree on the menu, although I admit I've never tried one.

Service is friendly and professional, although when the place is fully booked (that's every weekend), it can take a while to get someone's attention.

Lunch is available on weekends, making this a great destination for a weekend drive. Have fun!

“Consistly Eccellent”
Reviewed 24 October 2013

The food is always of the highest quality and the preparationis always excellent. Our most recent visit was with some friend and we had fish and they had the steak. All four dishes were excellent.
