“Charming hotel with perfect location”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

The history of this building makes it an interesting place to stay. We stayed in the Luxury Queen suite with balcony and spent many hours simply sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine watching the crowds stroll by. The location of this hotel was perfect for us - less crowd than downtown New Hope but with easy accessibility to everything. The staff was helpful when needed. The breakfast was more robust than your typical continental breakfast. We will certainly be back.

I liked almost everything about this place...from the price I paid (in relativity to the other stays downtown) to the continental breakfast.

Upon arriving in town I called the hotel to see where to park...they informed me they had spots on premise. The lady from the front desk met me in the parking lot with a tag and the bellhop grabbed out bags...and this is before even stepping foot inside.

Inside, the place was nice...smelled nice, fresh apples on the desk.

The room was on the 3rd floor, and we took the stairs, which were easy to navigate and had nice art on the wall. The room itself was nice, with a queen sized bed, a chair by the fireplace and a large jetted bathtub. Coffee and bottled water were free.

The bed slept nice and we really didn't need much outside of that provided. The next morning we had their continental breakfast, which was also nice (and plentiful).

And to top it all off, they let me stay parked in the lot even after I checked out, so we could walk around the town a bit.

My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that we couldn't really get WIFI in our room...I mean, we could, but it was one of those 'stand on your head, stick your tongue out and touch the ceiling with one hand' type of things.

Wonderful historic 1812 building. Conveniently located in the gallery district of Lambertville and a short walk across the Delaware River to New Hope, PA. Skip the parking fees and lodging prices and stay in NJ instead. Yes, we ate and attended the play in New Hope, but Lambertville has a lot going for it and this Inn has a fine staff and the room was luxurious. Yogurt, granola and fruit made for a healthy breakfast and the 11 am checkout left time for a walk on the canal towpath. Definitely a return destination. Washington Crossing State Park just downstream.

I have stayed in several luxury inns and B&Bs and the Lambertville House Hotel certainly deserves its Select Registry award. Everything about our stay was fantastic. Check-In and parking were a breeze, and we were thankful that the hotel had on-site parking (albeit small and required a pass proving you were an overnight guest). The room itself (a King Courtyard Suite) was well appointed and positively enormous, we had a separate room entirely for the jacuzzi tub entranced through french doors, and an added bonus of a private courtyard balcony (not much to look at but it was a perfect spot for our morning coffee). Our king bed was comfortable, the A/C worked well, and the bathroom was absolutely beautiful with a huge stand-up shower and nice finishings. I certainly appreciated the separate vanity sink in the room and an additional sink within the bathroom as well. Furnishings and decor were all first rate and we were able to truly relax. The surrounding town was quaint, and we were only a ten minute walk across the bridge to all that New Hope, PA has to offer. We were disappointed we weren't able to give the bar a try before we left though; oh well, next time!

Room Tip: The Governor's Suite (a King Courtyard Suite) was fabulous and by far the largest room I had eve...

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night. Thank goodness it wasn't for more. Our room, number 308, misleadingly called a "premium" room, was small but adequate -- until we were awoken literally at the crack of dawn by sunlight streaming in through the blinds. After struggling unsuccessfully to get some more sleep -- it was, after all only about 6:30AM on a holiday weekend, we decided to take a stroll. We made our way back to the hotel and went to breakfast at about 9:45AM, only to be told we were there "at the last minute" and would have to make do with whatever was left, given they only serve breakfast until 10AM. That meant there were only 7 blueberries left for us to share, among other things we apparently had missed out on. The breakfast staff began noisily removing dishes and plates while we were trying hard to enjoy what was left for us.

Upon complaining the following day to what turned out to be a seemingly friendly enough owner, she claimed never to have heard about the inadequate blinds in 308 -- even though I pointed out to her that the room right next door to us had nice, thick curtains in place when we happened to walk past their open door upon checking out. And of course, she adamantly refused to rebate us any portion of the $230 we paid for this one night.

Look, I have travelled far and wide, and most people would have gone at least a little out of their way to compensate us for this nightmarish situation. Instead, this owner claimed not to know of an obvious problem, and then refused to even throw us a bone. Combined with the rude breakfast "service," this is clearly not a customer friendly place.

deserves five stars - it's lovely and offers a special privacy as well as its beautiful decor. Also nice is that it has its own entrance - no need to carry bags up steps or get on an elevator and you can park your car right outside the door.
There's a delightful bar in the hotel - small, upscale and private - that's perfect for a late night drink.

Room Tip: The Carriage House is special.

It was nice to stay in Lambertville when visiting the area. It is more residential and quiet than New Hope but you can still walk to the other side in less than 10 minutes. If you want to hit the bars, the New Hope side might be more for you. Good restaurants and antiquing -of course - in Lambertville. We stayed in the upstairs carriage house room. Very private, lovely decor, second floor balcony with table and chairs, and it had a big bathroom with huge jacuzzi. The room was great, it also had a fridge. The only downside was that the bed seemed small. Seemed more like a double bed then a queen. Maybe it is just on the small end of the queen range.
