The Fairfield Inn in Mahwah, NJ is convenient to I287 and Rt. 17 on Rt. 202. And 2 of the best restaurants in the area are right next to it.
It's a standard Fairfield Inn - comfortable rooms, full breakfast, pool.
However, be careful if you have special requests (e.g., adjacent rooms, additional beds) to book directly with the hotel and not a travel website.

The hotel is just off main highways yet feels like forested countryside. It's maybe a year or two old, with suite-style rooms that are great for sleeping and working. Free hot breakfast was a cut above most. Staff are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Everywhere you go, it's clean. I like to take the stairs, which elsewhere are often concrete and neglected by cleaning staff - not here! Carpeted and spotless. Being from North Dakota, I expected "East Coast sticker shock," but the cost was on a par or less than what I'm used to.

Our last stop on the way home from vacation. Stayed only 1 night. Couldn't ask for a better place. It appears to be brand spanking new. Everything worked perfectly and the room was spotless. Breakfast was good and the breakfast area was clean and food/drink items continually monitored and refreshed. The front desk staff was extremely professional and helpful. We needed directions for the next morning, and Rachel was kind and very helpful. She wrote everything down in explicit detail and gave us confidence that we would not get lost. She was great! Also, do not miss the Mason Jar restaurant across the parking lot. In all our travels this season we had one of our BEST meals there. Great place!

Room Tip: Just ask for a quiet location and they will select it.

We were not in the hotel very long. Stayed one night, checked in after dinner, watched some preseason NFL football on TV and turned in, then checked out early to meet family members in the area for breakfast. However, I can say that the front desk staff was friendly, the common areas and our room were clean, and we had a good night's sleep. The hotel was easy to find, next to the Mason Jar restaurant on U.S. Highway 202 (Ramapo Valley Road), just off N.J. Route 17. We would stay here again.

Thank You for submitting a review regarding our hotel. The Housekeeping staff work diligently each and every day to provide a clean and comfortable stay for all guests and were glad that you had a satisfied stay with us. worst hotel ever, when we first arrived around 9pm, there was no one at register. after waiting for ten minutes, we were only told that our reservations couldn't be found because their system was down, so she couldn't check us in and couldn't do anything at all to help, she was rude in the way communicating with us,no smile, no greeting, and condescending . we requested to talk to the manger, and was told she was the only staff in the hotel.such a horrible experience , avoid this hotel!
