First time visit to Mikado. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and the Queen ordered the beef yakiniku. Because the latter was way too spicy we reversed dishes. (Having worked in a restaurant when I was was just a prince, I know its not a good idea to send anything back to the kitchen, if you know what I mean.) The yakiniku seemed to be similar to similar to the steak used at Dino's, one of the King's favorite restaurants in Margate; but without the roll and without the cheese, it just isn't the same. The chicken teriyaki was just okay - nothing special. The service could have been better by keeping our water glasses full, especially because of the spice in the yakiniku. We'll give it another try, maybe, but we'll ask the Queen to stick with something safe so that the King won't be disappointed.

We have been dining at Mikado for years. Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. It is one of the best sushi places we have been at. You can get both, "real" Japanise food, as wel as "fusion" stuff. Micado also offers you an opportunity to order "custom" dishes. Talk to Henry, if you need any specific requests, he is the best! Prices are very reasonable. It is a must place to visit in Margate

I've been visiting Miyako/Mikado every summer for the past 12 years. This place has always been a favorite of mine when down the shore and continues to be. I typically pick up a bottle or wine or a six pack to bring to dinner which you can grab a few blocks away if your down for the day. They have a few hibachi tables for those who don't eat sushi or you can order your hibachi entree at a regular table if most of your party is ordering sushi. The help here is quick and friendly and we never have too long of a wait even on a summer weekend since they have ample seating both inside and outside now.

We typically order the gyoza, green salad to start with and a regular favorite special roll is the Godzilla and Scott rolls. We also order some regular rolls such as spicy tuna, philadelphia and shrimp tempura which always are fresh. I think the prices are fair and sometimes off season they offer 1/2 off sushi on the weekdays so thats always a plus.

The name of this restaurant changed a few years ago to Miyako, but it is still excellent. We eat here with friends and family on a consistent basis and we have never been disappointed by the freshness of their sushi. I love the Sashimi regular dinner which comes with soup or salad. There is plenty of fish and you have the option of brown or white rice. They will also make the rolls and sushi with brown rice if you prefer. It is BYOB and they will warm your saki or provide a bucket for your chilled wine. They run half price roll/sushi specials, but the days vary according to the season. Also, if you enjoy a show, they offer hibachi tables for large groups, but we tend to prefer regular seating inside or out. If you like sushi, you will be pleased when you dine at Miyako.
