I arrived hot and tired after taking the train in from Penn Station in NYC. Schlepping a heavy bag, I just waned to get to my room. To my dismay, the two check in clerks were pinned down with clients that were taking WAY too long. A bellman named Abye noticed me shifting back and forth on my feet and rolling my eyes . He asked me if I needed anything and when I told him I just wanted to get to my room, he went behind the desk and got the hotel manager to open a station and check me in. This is what call going the extra mile and I'm happy to say that service at the Hyatt stayed at a high level throughout my weekend stay. The rooms and lobby and restaurant are also nice, but my hat is off to the staff here for first rate service.

We come here every couple months and this hotel is really going downhill fast. It is not worth the prices they charge. The hotel feels run down. Doors are warped and don't close. Service is top notch though.

This is a beautiful luxury property in an economically challenged neighborhood. Just down the street from the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, it was obviously built for the medical world to have conferences here. But it is convenient to the highway, just off the New Jersey Turnpike and provides a great place to stay near Princeton without the high Princeton prices.

My room faced the river (and the highway) with a nice king-sized bed, love seat, upholstered chairs, granite counter-tops, and a large flat-screen television. It was tastefully decorated in a modern sort of way. The bathroom was out of a decorating magazine: beautiful tile work, really nice toiletries, thick thirsty towels. I booked it on a discount hotel website for less than $60.00 (about $70 with tax), and was really pleased. Even near the highway, the building was very quiet-- no road noise.

Hotel parking was $8.00 (not bad), and it was in a secured garage with a guard watching closed circuit television monitors. I thought that it was well worth the price for him to keep a watch on the car. I did not have a chance to visit the gym or pool.

My only problem was that there was no place to plug in my cpap (sleep) machine near the bed, and I was too tired to go downstairs for an extension cord. One of those lamps with the built in outlet would have been a good idea.

The staff at the front desk were extremely nice and quite professional, and offered great friendly directions.

Altogether a really nice hotel at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: Take an extension cord if you need to plug something in beside the bed.

This is a great hotel in the lovely downtown of New Brunswick. The staff is great (Esp Keisha (sp?) from Trinidad), the gym is fantastic (and has the full circuit of weight lifting machines), and the restaurant/bar has good food. I am currently staying here one night for work-related purposes. It is very relaxing. Everytime I come in and hear the soothing music, I feel great. It's actually a treat for me to come here. Some of the rooms have balconies, too.

The location is a 2-3 min walk from the train station. Everything in the downtown area is easily within walking distance, so you get or do anything you need.

I've also stayed at the Helmrich. Both are great hotels, but the Hyatt has an infinitely better gym and better updated rooms (flat screen TV).

I recently stayed at this hotel while on a 4 day bus trip to NYC. Very nice hotel. Rooms were good. The beds were very comfortable and even the worst sleepers (like me) would find it hard to complain. Great hot breakfasts too! Several resturant choices withing walking distance to grab a bite go eat as well. Would not hesitate to recommend this Hyatt location to others.

Fabulous Sunday Brunch, walking distance to a number of restaurants including New Orlean Style!"The Old Bay." Deltas is a southern treat, Steak 85 is awesome, Katherine Lombardis is great, as in either of the Panicos.. The entire town is a treat, State Theatre, Crossroads Theatre, even authentic Tiny Mexican Restaurants. It's a fun time and changes on occasion~usually for the better! The Amber Lion Antique sho is hard to leave without a precious purchase. Have fun!
