“Perfect to spend time between flights”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

I stayed in a business king room for one night between flights. The room was clean, quiet, very comfortable bed, free wi-fi. They have free shuttle every half an hour. Breakfast was good enough. I was alone but I felt myself safe.

For an overnight at the Newark Airport, the Best Western does what it is supposed to very well. Free shuttle, free WiFi, free breakfast, clean rooms, shampoo. It's got all your travel needs covered. There isn't any place to roam outside of the building, but it has a decent restaurant on the premise that will get you through the night.

We stayed in a room with 2 queen beds & a sofa bed which was enough space for 2 adults and 4 children. Breakfast was included and good choice of food- hot & cold- also got special requests for family member with food allergies. Room remote did not work, but I forgot to report it. The room was clean and very quiet. I recommend this hotel for families looking to travel into NYC- shuttle service for free to Penn Station to go into the city.

Hotel lobby area was a pleasant surprise. Room was functional but very dark (colors, lighting), bathroom had hair on the floor (that wasn't mine). I suspect most of us were staying there to catch AM flights at EWR the next day and for that purpose the hotel is great. Front desk staff a little low energy and not the most engaging but for the purpose and price, along with free shuttle service to EWR (which is why I booked) it served the purpose well. Waffles on the breakfast bar were awesome!

Nit picky stuff: The staff could use some customer service training. Nothing terrible but most of them seemed quiet and not very thrilled to be there. Maid shouted at me (no joke shouted) "What is your room number!" when I was leaving so she could clean. At 7:30 AM other guests in that corridor may not have appreciated that. When I asked front desk if next shuttle to EWR was at 8 AM she said "Yes, there's only two!" A simple yes probably would have been better and more well received.

Room Tip: no view, in the middle of rental cars and abandoned factories, all rooms likely they same. you aren...

This hotel is difficult to find. We were there for one night. The breakfast was fine but it seems that you have to get there before 9:00 a.m. or else there would be hardly anything left. The breakfast is both hot and cold items. I especially liked the make-it-yourself waffles. The hotel is good for the price and good for a short stay. We arrived long before check-in and we were accommodated. The room was very roomy and clean. However, the hallways were not as clean. All in all, a good stay.

We stayed here with our 2 year old daughter before and after a flight from EWR. The park/stay/fly price was very reasonable, nearly a $100.00 less than other nearby hotels. I found this hotel difficult to find using iOS maps app. The street the hotel is on is located too soon after a waypoint and the GPS couldn't deliver me audible directions fast enough. Check-in prior to departing was fine. Room 506 was on the alley side of the hotel and nicely updated. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was over priced and slow to come form the kitchen. The bartender (we were seated at a table) did go out of his way to make some toast and chicken tenders for our daughter who was having trouble waiting for the kitchen. The shuttle to EWR the next morning was on time and courteous. The shuttle from EWR on the return trip was a 30 minute wait. Check-in was slow. Getting a pack and play to room 308 was slow. 308 has a nicely sized alcove instead of a closet that perfectly fits a pack and play. Baby was nicely isolated form the noise and lights in the hotel room while my wife and I stay up longer. I don't think I'd stay here again. I'd pay more for an easier to find, easier to use hotel for our next park/stay/fly.

Room Tip: 308 fits a pack and play nicely.

This one was a real shocker, although in a good way. After landing an Express deal for a three star hotel near the airport on Priceline, we were a little apprehensive as we had never stayed in a best western hotel before.. and boy, were we surprised.. my first reaction when I walked into the room was Wow! It was a huge room with two queen beds ( but lacking a sofa bed, which was part of the deal on priceline, but we didn't mind because the room was simply awesome) .. the bathrooms were very clean . If you expecting a room with a view, this isn't the place for you but if it a good , clean hotel room you want near the airport with a free shuttle service to and from the airport as well as to the nearby Penn station , this is it.. the staff were attentive and friendly... The two issues I had was firstly, with the shuttle drivers , who were pretty rude and had a lackadaisical attitude... and the second one was not so much as issue as a weird occurrence.. We stayed for two nights and each day when we returned to the hotel at night, our key cards were deactivated and this was an issue all the guests faced..I m not really sure what was happening.. I would definitely recommend this hotel..
