“Annual superior enjoyment of cherry blossoms”
Review of Branch Brook Park

This relatively large and somewhat quaint picturesque park transforms annually into a spectacular gem of blooming Japanese cherry trees (sakura trees). This is quite a spectacle... I have not seen that many sakuras in one park anywhere else in the USA.
Previously there would be no way online to check whether cherries are in bloom, but now there is a real-time camera, which is certainly an improvement.
This park becomes very romantic when sakuras are in bloom, with paved leisurely walks along the river canal.

I give it a 4/5 because it needs more vigilance in certain isolated areas. The rest is good. A lot of options for sports and relaxation. Great acces to public transportation.

Amazing once a year beauty in an ugly unsafe city. If you go, just be vigilant. Best to drive by through the park to see the blossoms.

Another Newark gem destroyed by the drug and criminal element.
This city is an AVOID COMPLETELY area. Even their no good mayor got out ASAP.
Born here but WILL NOT RETURN EVER AGAIN.

This park is fantastic during cherry blossom time when you'll see more cherry trees in bloom than in Washington, D.C.! Really. Plan on taking a stroll through the park, bring along your camera, and during the celebration days, you'll find vendors and musicians. Parking is free and around the perimeter of the park.
