“Good location”

I frequently astray at this location for work. The hotel is clean and well maintained. They have remodeled the lobby and restaurant. The airport van service is very nod and runs frequently. The restaurant for breakfast is good, however, for dinner they need more entree options.

I have to stay here a lot on business and yes it's just another Marriott but actually it isn't. The staff here really go out of their way to make you feel special and you tend to forget (if you don't look out the windows) that you are stuck in the middle of Newark airport! Bar and restaurant staff are superb and the food is good, half chicken is the best thing on the current menu. The housekeeping staff and front desk team are all great and responsive to requests. The guys in the concierge lounge are fun and professional and nothing is too much trouble.
A lot of people find themselves 'stuck' in Newark for a night due to delayed or cancelled flights or it's just convenient for the airport the next morning. Give this a try the next time, you cant go wrong and you really have been missing out.

I stayed here for the same reasons others have mentioned; an early AM departure and convenience to airport. I had arrived after a long flight and was catching an even longer flight early the next morning so I really wanted to be comfortable. Therefore, I booked the concierge floor for $319. I was disappointed at the small room size and cheap tackiness of the furnishings, although I enjoyed the airport view. The bed was comfortable enough. However, the main problem was a strange musty smell in the room and the noise of the air conditioner. These 2 things are unacceptable in a $300 room. I was too exhausted to ask to change rooms, but I left very early the next morning, preferring a couple of hours in the airport lounge to any more time in this depressing room. On the positive side, room service was fast and unexpectedly tasty. Check in was also fast and professional. As others have mentioned, you can't walk here from the terminal, although it is very close. Shuttle service is fast and efficient, however. I won't come back here, although I come through Newark several times a year. It's over-priced and not particularly comfortable.

My wife and I have a running disagreement about Marriott, I often travel for business, and I like to stay a the Marriott, as I generally find it to be dependable, reasonably priced, clean, close to where I am wanting to be, and consistent. She finds them unpleasant and overpriced. We picked this one because it was at the airport, but we found it disappointing in several ways. First, maybe we should have known this, but it is not actually IN or attached to the airport terminal. You need to take a bus. On the plus side, it appears to run very often, and the shuttle drivers are a fountain of information about the airport and the hotel. Secondly, the restaurant was WAY overpriced. For two of us with two drinks, for dinner, we spent over $100----and while the meal was not bad, it was NOT worth even half that. The food was fair at best. (Avoid the Gnocci in particular.) Finally, and perhaps most importantly, it did not smell good. The room they sent us to originally smelled so unpleasantly that we called to the desk and asked to be moved. To their credit, they sent a bellman up with no complaints almost immediately, an we were moved to a new room. The new one still did not smell good, but it was MUCH better than the original room. Not sure I could place the smell, but it was not good. On balance, it struck me as a hotel that is riding on the coattails of the airport, and thinking that they do not need to be good because of that. Marriott should be able to do better, or my wife will win the argument.

We had a cancelled flight due to weather on our return flight from Las Vegas to South Carolina. We picked the closest option. It was a nice surprise. When we told the front desk about our problem getting home, the upgraded our room. The view was great. The bed was amazing! We didn't want to have to try and find somewhere to go for supper since this was an unplanned stop; so, we decided to eat in the restaurant. We were impressed. We were disappointed in our meals for our first time in Vegas, but the chef here made up for that. The best food we had had all week.

If you are arriving at Newark airport and are transferring to the Newark Liberty Int. Marriott hotel, DO NOT follow the airport's staff instructions (even after showing them the name of the hotel and pointing to it across the car park) of hiking with all your luggage, under their direction, to the end of the building, to then negotiate a steep ramp and road crossing, to then wait for a shuttle bus, to then load everything onto the shuttle (in our case four heavy cases, we don't travel light!) to then find this is one of two shuttle busses you need, seriously?! Then to arrive at the next shuttle destination offload luggage with the help of staff, to then cross a platform, to then wait for the hotel shuttle, to then reload and shuttle drive to the hotel, which is nearly touching distance from the airport! The whole process is exhausting and bewildering.
When we got to the hotel and told the doorman there must be an easier way, he said no matter how much training they give the airport staff they fail to tell arriving guests, that this Marriott is the ONLY hotel that offers direct pick up from the door and to also drop off at your correct flight terminal entrance when departing. So, now we know, I wish the airport staff remembered the training!
The hotel was fine for a night's stay, swift check in, pleasant staff, room overlooking the runway (that's how close this place is) clean, quiet, comfy bed and a nice meal in the restaurant. We left early, 5am, for flight back to London, doorman rustled up hotel shuttle bus, which leaves every 15 mins, but in constant mobile contact with the hotel so appeared as soon as we were ready to leave. The friendly driver loaded our luggage and dropped us off right at the door. Departure easy! Perfect! You may wonder, regarding our arrival, why we didn't just walk across the car park to the hotel, well you can't, unless you leap over a barrier (not easy with four large cases!) and negotiate very busy road intersections. Not advisable unless you are an Olympic hurdler.

Room Tip: High level and overlooking runway. Very quiet.

Green Features: No probably what the hotel is considering as environmental, but the food portions in the restaurant are just too large, so consequently too much food wastage, as is the same for most places.

I was here for a sales meeting in May and was disappointed with the rooms, given that this is a Marriott branded hotel. My room was in the tower that faces directly towards the airport and I am told that some floors/towers/rooms have been remodeled, but I can say definitively that room 714 needs a refresh. Dirty, worn carpets, old fixtures and furniture. The iron functioned, but as usual the water reservoir cap was broken off.

On the positive, we had friendly attentive service. The bar was wonderful and the catered lunches in the conference rooms was excellent.
