We stayed here the night before an early morning flight from EWR. Parking is really tight, it's not a place where you're going to go in and out with your car.
To repeat what many have said, this place is well beyond its best days but its location is fantastic if you're not spending much time in Newark. Quick ride over to the airport, Penn Station is down the block. If you wanted a home base to spend a day or two in the city this would be a real bargain.
But there is the smoky smell permeating the rooms even though my entire floor (8) was marked non-smoking. The smell of air freshener/cleaner over the top of old smoke. The wifi was a joke, we tried to log on but were told that there were already the max number of users. Dead batteries in the tv remote.
The desk staff was largely disinterested though we were able to check out quickly at 4:30 am.More
