This onetime Victorian Inn has taken on a present day California style ambiance. Nestled in the heart of historic homes, the Great Auditorium and Tent City, you can park the car and walk to everything. You are one short block from the beach and the ocean vistas from the large open porches are beautiful. The continental breakfast is over-the-top with a wide variety of fruits and pastries, great coffee and more. No need for towels, large, fluffy towels are provided. Above all is the staff! Vickie, the manager, and Rick, the overall can do all guy, are professional, accommodating and efficient. They really care about you! When I told Vickie that I lost my engagement ring in the sand, she went over the top reaching out to police, beach management and found someone with a metal detector! Found the ring! By the way, the rooms are clean and so inviting. Guess that is why we have been coming here for 20 years!

I absolutely love it here! The ambiance, the comfy, well decorated rooms, and the buffet breakfast from 7:30-11 is much more than continental!! Great staff led by Vicki and Rick! Free mini candies in a bowl in the parlor which is amply replenished all day! Lower floor has snack bags of assorted chips (free) for beach or late night munchies! This is my third stay here and I'm coming back next August!!! You'll love it if B&B is your style!

Room Tip: Any room depending upon your needs is great!

The staff made a big difference - any problem we had they fixed quickly - we had more fun due to their help - when we reported that our bed was uncomfortable they changed our room and later tried that bed and agreed that it was uncomfortable - they went out and got a memory foam mattress top so that the next guest in that room would be comfortable - many thanks to Rick and Vicki

I spent two nights at the Ocean Plaza with my husband and my dog, Gizmo, July 27, 28, 29, 2014. The inn was perfect for our needs as I had just found this deal on July 20th from Travelzoo. As soon as I saw it was pet friendly I immediately checked into it and they had availability for these dates as it is very hard to find something pet friendly down the jersey shore as you would have to book something like a year in advance! Ok--we were located in the second inn, on the third floor, the room was tiny, but we managed, the downstairs lobby had full living room, dining area, kitchen area, outside was a wrap around porch which was really nice. The inn was about a block from beach and within walking distance to Main Street . We were able to take our dog all over Main Street, into the stores, as the whole town is very pet friendly. Even when we went to restaurants we were able to sit outside with our Gizmo. Yes, Rick and Vicky were very friendly and helpful. This deal also included breakfast every morning and they had snacks located in main inn you just helped yourself!, overall we wished we could have stayed longer and thank god the weather turned out good, not great but good as New Jersey is having a not so good summer, the ocean water temperature was cold--62 degrees and the morning we left the air temperature was only 61 degrees. We loved this place and so glad I found this deal on Travelzoo. We would love to go back with our dog but stay in a bigger room . the charm of the inn and the Victorian houses and friendly people would definitely make us return next summer.

Room Tip: We actually were invited in by our neighbors to see their suite.gorgeous, but very expensive, and I...

A friendly place, on the central avenue to the beach. Great location, beautiful restoration, helpful staff. Comfortable but not sumptuous rooms. Wine glasses available in the parlor for your brought-in wine in this dry town.

Perfect location on Ocean Pathway with views of Victorian homes, the boardwalk and ocean. And the sunrise. Friendly staff. Vicki and Rick are very helpful with the area's restaurants and activities. Spacious rooms with modern conveniences. Large porches on each floor. Very short walk to the beach and walking distance to shops and restaurants.

I spent a long weekend at The Ocean Plaza July 17-21. IT WAS PERFECT! This big, beautiful B&B is located just several Victorian houses away (about a three minute walk) from the oceanfront, situated on Ocean Pathway, an airy and attractive wide avenue in the heart of Ocean Grove. Rick was friendly and knowledgeable about all of the local cafés and restaurants, beaches, events, groceries, liquor runs, town history, and even several of the regular and returning guests. My room had two queen beds, with thick, soft, luxurious comforters. Room temperature was well-maintained with AC and a ceiling fan. They even offer Bath and Body Works travel-sized soaps, lotion, and shampoo. The house was relaxing and quiet; I know there were small children staying, but I never heard a peep from children or any other guests.

Anne, who oversaw the continental breakfast on the breezy, wrap-around second floor porch, made sure the coffee was always full, and the pastries, fruit, yogurt and other breakfast items were always fresh and replenished. She always had a smile on her face and a minute to chat.

Having large, clean beach towels, folded, warm and fresh from the dryer every morning, was a HUGE convenience! No damp, sandy beach towels to leave lying around or pack at day's end! Vicki and Rick had a large basket ready in the front office to deposit used towels when you returned. We were able to purchase discounted beach tags at the front desk; we locked up our rented bikes at the bike rack on the side of the house; borrowed beach chairs when they were available, and enjoyed free parking! Best of all, we never moved our car for the five days we were there! Just a few blocks down from us, Main Street offered several meal venues - sidewalk dining, ice cream, deli-style, gourmet, and, of course, pizza at The Pizzaria. I also shopped in the many boutique, antique and art shops there. Asbury Park was a short ten minute walk in one direction, where live music was playing at the Stone Pony Summer Stage, and we ate and drank delicious food and cocktails at Stella Marina and Watermark. Bradley Beach was a 20 minute walk in the other direction, where we met friends for the day. Supplies, groceries, and beer and spirits were a 15 minute walk and a hop across the main road.

Hours could be spent walking up and down the avenues, alleys, and side streets, admiring the many diverse and beautiful Victorian gingerbread gems and Painted Ladies!

Rick, Vicki, and Anne, along with the housekeeping staff, made this one of the best short vacations I have had in years!
