“A room with a beautiful ocean and sunrise view!!”
Reviewed 26 February 2014

The Inn was very cozy and the Angelica room had an awesome view of the ocean. We were able to enjoy champagne and watch the ocean from our room. We awoke to a stunning sunrise with out leaving our bed (I highly recommend the Angelica room)!! Winter George and Natasha made us feel at home and their little girl was adorable and very playful. From the delicious breakfast to the warm, cozy & comfortable atmosphere, everything about our stay was lovely and we will definitely be coming back.

Room Tip: I highly recommend the Angelica room. You can see the ocean from there

It is really a great location, being only a block from the beach. Although the rooms are a bit small, they are adequate and very well maintained. Management is very personable and quick to offer assistance if needed. There are BYB restaurants nearby, as they are not allowed to sell alcoholic beverages. The town continues to be a Methodist summer retreat area, with tent cottages and cathedral nearby.

I stayed at the Inn for the past 3 weekends. The Inn is just a block from the ocean and just a 15 minute walk from the Asbury Park train station. I take the train from Penn Station, NYC and it is about an hour and 30 minutes. Ask for Room 10 as you can see the ocean from the bed and can watch the sunrise from the bed...very cool! Ocean Grove itself is very beautiful with awesome architecture. It is also only a 5 min walk from Asbury Park, which is full of top-notch restaurants and bars (Ocean Grove is a dry town). Try Bank in Asbury, which is a restaurant in an old bank building....very cool. George, the manager at the Inn, a great guy and aims to make your experience as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. In the winter, the Inn is only $99 a night. The Inn and the area is a must do for anyone needing a nice break on the NJ Shore.

Room Tip: Choose Room 10 or any room with an ocean view.

Winter George and Natasha are the perfect host and hostess. Friendly, efficient and maintain the Inn as if it were there own. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again, and actually look forward to my next visit. We were in a hurry so couldn't enjoy the plentiful breakfast but it looked very appealing. Thank you George and Natasha for making our stay so lovely.
If you want the charm of The Grove, this is definitely the place to stay.

I have been in the Inn twice and always has been pleasant! First with a group of friends, in the summer. we stayed at a double bedroom and everything was clean and neat when we arrived. We brought our bicycles and parked them at the patio (very useful to move around at the shore). The George's and family are very friendly and the breakfast is greatttt! Those French toasts with fresh fruit and smelling the ocean breeze, the best! Second time I went with my boyfriend a couple of weeks ago for a winter scape from the concrete jungle. It was quiet, peaceful and its good located if you want to go to the restaurants in Asbury park or the beach. 15mins walk to AP and 2mins walk to the ocean. Both times has been a great experience and I highly recommend it!

We have stayed at quite a few b&bs over the years but the Inn at Ocean Grove is the only one we return to over and over again. The Inn's sleeping rooms are very comfortable and provide all of the regularly expected b&b amenities such as themed decor, special soaps and hand cream, lots of towels, good sized closets and I think most but not all rooms have a private bathroom. One of my favorite common areas is the combination dining/living room that has large comfy couches and huge french doors that open to a side patio with tables and the doors also provide access to the large old fashioned wrap around porch where more tables provide a shady place to eat your breakfast during warmer seasons. My other favorite is the rooftop deck, especially on a warm night, when you can hear the ocean and feel the sea breeze - very relaxing.
But the best comfort is how well the Inn managers try to attend to your needs. During one visit, our family (a couple of kids too) had a overnight get-together/birthday event and we were allowed to use the living/dining room area for the birthday celebration and it felt like home. Other times, I have had to change reservation dates or arrival times and the Inn managers were always easy going and friendly.
While comfort is important to me so is cost and the room rates at the Inn at Ocean Grove have never been out of reach for us especially during the off season when rates are a low $99 per night. We love visiting the shore in October and this year we had a great stay during a December visit for the Ocean Grove Victorian Holiday Festival. The stores and restaurants in Ocean Grove were open.
That leads me to my last most important reason for staying at the Inn at Ocean Grove - location. It is located in the great little Victorian town of Ocean Grove that has a beautiful beach (the Inn is two blocks away from the beach) and if you want a more urban feel, you only have to walk ten or fifteen minutes north via the boardwalk, streets or foot bridge to the Asbury Park boardwalk or town center. Best of all, if the Garden State Parkway is running smoothly, it only takes us an hour and a half to get there.
If you like a comfy, relaxed atmosphere and want to park your car and never have to use it during the rest of your vacation, the Inn at Ocean Grove is perfect.

Room Tip: Rooms located on the southeast front of the Inn have an ocean view but also face the street. If you...
