I asked for their most popular sandwich, as i'll probably never never be back in this area again. The suggested Buffalo Chicken Chhese Steak lived up to expectations! I had my doubts when they recommended 'hot' spices, but it was perfect! I'd come again. I probably would never bring a date here, as the dining area looks like an old gym area with only 2 stand alone tables and 2 tables up against the wall; but the sandwiches made up for it. Bravo!!

The restaurant itself is very odd. Not the kind of place where you'd want to spend a lot of time, so I suggest getting your food to go when you can. There is a lot of empty space, filled only with two tall tables that look like they have been repurposed from a school or something, & some stools. The building also has a really odd smell that I couldn't quite place, probably having something to do with it being an old building. For someone who is sensitive to smell, like I am, this probably isn't a place where you'll want to sit for a leisurely lunch. The food was mediocre for the most part, but the curly fries were really, really good. Cooked just right & seasoned very well. I also had a chicken BLT wrap & the chicken tasted old, like it had been sitting in the fridge for a while before being served. The wrap really wasn't very good. My boyfriend didn't like his cheese steak at all either.

It's probably the 3rd most well known place to eat in Plainsboro outside Aljons and Romeos. And as far as sandwich shops go it's pretty awesome. It definitely still has the best buffalo chicken cheesesteak you will ever have. They also have solid soups and other specialty sandwiches like the Chicken Supreme and you basically can't go wrong with their hot sandwiches. Unless it's that one day that it's off... that never used to happen but the ownership has changed a lot in the last few years and every once in a while the sandwiches will just be, well, off. You will also get nickles and dimed for things like extra sauce and stuff which never used to happen.

In fairness, this place has been cursed... let's call it the curse of Lapidus market. Lapidus was THE most well known place in Plainsboro all throughout the 80s and early 90s. it was an excellent sandwich shop store and deli, but it went downhill after an ownership change and was vacant until Steak and hoagie moved in from across town. The zoning in the town doesn't allow there to be tables like a real restaurant so they have to cut corners and they shouldn't have to. It's stupid zoning and it costs them money and business.

Overall, unless you get that one blunder a month, you should stop by here and get yourself a "half buffalo swirl with mild and medium sauce..."

There are better sandwiches a little further afield, but the hoagies here are certainly pretty good. Sure, you can feel your arteries curling up with every bite, but that's kinda the point, I guess. Worth a visit if you're in downtown Plainsboro, but Princeton has a wider - and better - selection.

Nothing really special, except that it's local. The service tends to be slow, the bread not great. The cheesesteak wrap is very good, though.
