read the reviews & was swayed by two here, so we booked. Still no website & no efficiency rooms, BUT - spoke to gentleman there, was very polite. Found out we could get a crib from them for the little one, and pick up a microwave @ the office to use in our room. All rooms have small refrigerator. Happy about location because of trekking a 6 year old & 18 month old & all necessary paraphernalia back & forth to the beach. I will return after our stay to actually rate the facility. I'm excited to go there. The extra we are paying to be closer to the beach & boardwalk will save us money & hassle with regard to parking, etc. Talk to you after 7/31. Gave middle of the road ratings for most things until after our stay, when I can actually give an informed review. But the location should be prime.

Point beach motel is the best place to stay when your in pt pleasant. Its right across from the boardwalk, and it's easy for the kids to go back and forth not far to walk. The pool is nice and clean, very friendly people. rooms are very clean. I have been going there for the last 15 years. Price is fair.

My family, which includes 2 toddlers, stayed at the Point Beach Motel the second week in September. I picked the motel solely based on a review on this website that said the motel had recently been painted and had new fixtures, etc., and due to its location to the boardwalk (directly across the street). Unfortunately they don't have pictures or a website to look at, but don't let that deter you from staying there. The motel is located directly across the street from the south end of Jenkinsen's Boardwalk, right by the amusement park, an arcade and beach access Although we did not need them because it was late in the season, the motel provides you with free daily beach passes. The motel is so close to the beach that it is actually easier to go back to the room to use the restroom than find one on the boardwalk. You get a free parking spot and we really did not need to move our car except to go into town, which we could have walked to in about 10-15 minutes except that we had very young kids and it was raining. You can easily walk to the Aquarium and put-put course on the boardwalk and if you want spa treatment, you can also easily walk to the Sand Winds hotel where there is a day spa and Spano's italian resturant. It is only about 2 blocks down the road.

The rooms are pretty basic-either two queen or one king. There is a dresser w/ mirror and a closet area with hangers. There is a table with two chairs, a 27 inch TV with basic cable and two sinks-one in the bathroom and one outside, which was nice. The shower was clean and the tile floor seemed new. My only complaint was that the toilet paper was horribly rough on the skin.

There is a pool that they cleaned every morning and although it is small, it has seats built into the wall of the pool and a ledge all around the pool so you can walk all around the inside of the pool. It is 3-6 feet deep, so youngsters need some type of flotation device. There were about 15-20 lounge chairs to sit on and there was no shade, so it was excellent sunning conditions. The pool area has a bathroom and a shower, although the shower was out-of-order when we were there, so I don't know what it looked like. There is also a sun deck on the second floor with another 8-10 lounge chairs facing the ocean (although I don't think you can actually see it). They have a soda machine-coke products and free ice. No candy though, but there is a family dollar and grocery store in town.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned every day, which was helpful in our case because we would eat some meals in the room and the kids were messy. There is a mini-fridge in every room which is your typical dormroom fridge with a mini-ice box.

No coffee pots, alarm clocks or haridryers in the rooms, so remember to bring those items with you.

We were allowed to keep our car in the parking lot after we checked out. I don't know if this is true in-season, but there is free parking on the side street where the motel is located, so your car could easily be moved there at night to reserve a space after check-out. There is also Residen's Bath House right across the street-they were closed when we were there, but the motel is really situated in a great location for spending a day at the beach before driving home.

As the review I read said, this is a basic, clean motel. The only thing that was not as clean as a 5 star hotel was the carpet-no stains, burn holes or any obvious dirt, but your feet turned a little black after walking on it....but, we were there at the end of the season, so I am sure the carpet had seen quite a bit of action before we got there.

Since it rained part of our trip, we drove around. There is not a single motel that is closer to both the boardwalk and beach. I was really glad I chose this motel because the others I considered were either close to the beach but quite a bit away from the boardwalk or they were just not close to anything. With young kids, it is not a pleasant experience to have to drag the kids, strollers, umbrella, diaper bags, beach towels, etc. more than 50 feet, and that is the exact luxury you get with the Point Beach Motel.

We'll be back again next year when hopefully it won't rain so much and we can enjoy the amusement park. (I will add that there was a group of people at the motel when we were there that were able to set up a tarp by the pool area so that they could all sit outside and spend time together by the pool even though it was raining. The motel was accomodating like that.

We were pleasantly surprised by the Point Beach Motel. Both my friend and I have had bad experiences with NJ shore motels. We were a little scared when making the reservation, but once we arrived, our fears were alleviated.

It is a basic, clean beach motel. There are no frills. It is located right on Ocean Ave across the street from the south end of Jenkinsons Boardwalk. It is 2 blocks from the main street (I forgot the name, sorry) so a short walk into the town if you are interested in the shops.

Our room was clean. There is a small fridge in every room. The linens were new. The walls had been recently painted. The sinks, bathroom hardware and wall sconces were all new. The furniture is dated, but was fine. The mattresses have seen better days, but our beds had very thick mattress pads and we had no trouble sleeping. Housekeeping came timely each day we were there.

On the second floor of the motel, there is a small sundeck with lounge chairs. At night we used this area to enjoy the evening and have a glass of wine (glass is not allowed on sundeck itself, use plastic cups).

There is a small pool with some lounges around it. We did not use the pool, we just used the beach.

The motel does not offer late check out, but are very accomadating. Parking is valid until check out time. The manager had made a recomendation that worked well. We were planning on staying at the beach the entire day following our last night at the motel. He recommended we move our car late at night to the street (he told us which streets were no charge for parking) our last night. After check out, we would still have access to the motels public facilities. Next to the pool they have a bathroom and shower that are private. We were able to go to the beach for the day and them come back to the motel, shower and change before heading out.

The only negative was a bit of a damp smell in the room. It was not overpowering, but it was there. We had planned for this and brought insence with us which fully freshened things up.

All in all, we had a good experience at this motel and would stay there again. As I stated in my first sentence, it is a clean basic beach motel with no frills.

The last five summers we have been spending our vacation at the Pt. Beach Motel. That is our favorite Motel to stay at. It's close to the Broadwalk and Beach. It's clean and all the staff is friendly and accomodating.
