White Sands Oceanfront Resort & Spa

We just returned from an amazing NJ vacation at The White Sands which is located directly on the beach, my family of 5 had a small room which was just perfect. Two adults and three children. We had the option of enjoying one of three pools, two outdoor pools, heated and an indoor pool, or the ocean which was steps away on a clean private beach. Couldn't have asked for more. The boardwalk was less than a two block walk away. The staff was friendly and attentive, room was always cleaned while we were out. Some parts of the hotel are still under light construction, but it didn't detract from our quiet, comfort or ability to have a good time. You have to realize this area was devastated, there are still areas nearby which are under heavy construction. The fact that this hotel is as well maintained and in as good repair as it is, is a testament to the dedication of the family which owns the property. Price was great and we couldn't have asked for anything more. My wife thought the bed was hard, I thought it was perfect. A/C worked beautifully and the room was always comfortable. We will be back and I think we have begun a great family tradition, I hope to return in the fall because I don't think I can wait till next summer.

Room Tip: Room 315 was the right size for a small family, maybe two adults and two small children would be opt...

I was highly impressed and surprised how nice this place was and how accommodating all the staff was after reading previous reviews. Our room was spacious with everything we could ask for including a balcony with a view of the pool and the ocean. The bath products were on the shower wall and had everything we needed. Room was spacious for the beach. The location is ideal. You are right on the beach, pool and have easy access to the boardwalk and all the action. Everything was new since it has all been redone since hurricane Sandy. You could still smell the new paint and the door to the room was new. The pools were fantastic, restaurant delicious and private beach so relaxing. You can park your car and walk everywhere. Truly paradise. The spa is supposed to fantastic but it was closed when we were there so we ran out of time.

Room Tip: Choose the resort side so you don't have to cross the street to get to the pool and beach. I lo...

For years, we've becoming to the Jersey Shore specifically to Cape May, but after hurricane Sandy, everything has changed. We had to wait at least a year for the Jersey Shore to bounce back. This year, we've decided to return but instead of driving 3 hours from Staten Island to Cape May, we wanted to find something closer so that we can be on a nice beach under an hour of drive time. After doing my research, I've decided to take my family of four (2 adults and 2 young kids under 10) to this hotel in Point Pleasant. What a great decision! This place is beautiful, well maintained, with friendly staff in a cute little beach town. The main building is the hotel across the street from the beach (has an indoor pool and a restaurant) and then there is the resort area right on the beach surrounded by 3 swimming pools (2 pools for adults and one for little kids) with plenty of chairs for everyone even if the hotel is booked. The beach is private so only guests are allowed to be there. It's clean and well maintained as well. We stayed on the resort side in building 300. It was nice but we did not have a balcony. We are coming back for the Labor Day weekend and will stay in building 200 which has rooms with balconies most oceanfront. There is a brand new restaurant right on the beach that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is reasonably priced and you don't feel like you are paying an arm and a leg for a salad or a burger just because you are eating with a view. When you are ready to make reservations, ask for Samantha, the sweetest most patient front desk associate you can ever speak to - super helpful! I only have one complaint, but it's minor. I was asked to pay $3.95 for a wi-fi service for 6 hours. I just thought that when you are paying $250 per night for a room, in this day in age, this type of service should be included. But that's okay, we are still coming back in two months! Thanks for a great time!

Room Tip: The amusement park is a 2-minute drive from the resort. It's a 10 minute walk.

Wow! Thanks for such a great review! I am glad you enjoyed staying with us. We will look forward to seeing you on Labor Day weekend! We did institute an outside company to offer our guests a better WiFi experience than we were able to offer ourselves. Since this company came in, we no longer get complaints that guests can not get online. We thought it was the best of the two evils. :)
I look forward to your return!

This was the nicest hotel I ever stayed at the beach in Jersey. It was very clean and had a nice relaxing view . I was surprised at how clean it was because that hasn't been my experience with most shore hotels in New Jersey . I would definitely say here again, but it is a little pricey.i don't think I would consider it a resort but again it's the jersey shore. I would recommend this hotel to a friend. We stayed for a long weekend in September . The weather was nice and we had a nice time.

This was our 3rd visit to this property- 1st time post-Sandy. Myself, hubby and 4 yo daughter.
We stayed in room 404 on the resort side, a 2 bed unit with separate bedroom. The room was equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, 2 tvs (no dvd), telephone, iron, ironing board, small table w/chairs, king & queen beds. full bath w/tub. The rooms appear to be refurbished after the damage from Sandy and there is still evidence that many in the community are still rebuilding, although most property owners have done a nice job at cleaning up.
This "resort" is simply a Jersey Shore hotel (motel style rooms if you are staying on the resort side). Additional improvements include new pavers along both large pool areas and kiddie pool, fire pit seating (although it's not completely hooked up yet) refurbished pools, newly built oceanside restaurant (Firefly), outdoor showers for rinsing off the sand, 2 separate access points to the beach, new fencing around pool and property.
Overall they have done a very nice job at getting things back in order with better materials and ambiance. There was still work being done, as contractors were working on the building at the larger pool- just a slight distraction.
The restaurant just opened, and while the food was good, the service was HORRIBLE. So bad, that we ate breakfast there once. never went back, and the other customers were equally disappointed at the lack of service/customer focus. Many other better places to eat in close proximity. That is clearly something that needs major improvement.
Room service was timely, and kept things in neat, clean order.
Great location. Walking distance from the boardwalk- just far enough away that you don't hear the noise or see the multitude of people passing in front of your hotel. Easy access to the beach and the transition between beach & pool is seamless. The hotel provides beach towels and lounge chairs at pool side but no chairs for the beach.
We enjoy this place, and feel very strongly it offers a good value. It's great for families with children as there is so much to do to keep them busy and having fun.
BTW- local eats that were GREAT include Luigi's Pizza & Restaurant in a small strip mall on Washington Ave right by the railroads tracks (can't remember the street name). Ate pizza, shrimp scampi over capellini and seafood fra diavolo over spaghetti. Everything was SUPER DELICIOUS. Went back another night just for zeppoles which were 12 for $2.00 as opposed to the boardwalk which were 6 tiny zeppoles for $5.00. Luigi's offers an extensive menu for pick up or delivery too. Mom & pop place that is worth the visit, and literally 5 minutes away. I'm a Local Café on Broadway & Chicago Ave (great breakfast & brunch). Nice size portions, indoor and outdoor seating and great service. Can't go wrong at either.

Room Tip: To be right on the beach, get a room on the resort side. The main hotel is across the street. Not a...

Great hotel in great location for great off season price. Large room overlooking the pool. 3 pools are a plus since you can switch pools for a change of atmosphere. 2 qns a pull out couch and a refrig and sink! didn't even realize when I booked. was a nice surprise.
great location to a wonderful family friendly boardwalk. beach is gorgeous. everyone who works here is very accommodating and has a carefree attitude. no serious rules.

Beds a little stiff but not intolerable.
air conditioner unit was a big draw back. kept us up all night with cycling on and off every 30 seconds and was VERY loud. if we shut it off the room got hot so we had to live through it.
need to upgrade units.

Room Tip: first floor in the 200 unit was very good location. easy to get to from parking and has a view of po...

This hotel is several blocks south of the Boardwalk and its "resort" side is on the beach while the hotel is across the street. There are two outdoor pools and sun decks overlooking the beach on the resort side and an indoor pool, spa, steam room sauna and fitness center across the street in the hotel. The hotel has customer service reps that circulate through out the property who are just fantastic. One of our family members has a developmental disability and the staff could not do enough to help us with every need. We have stayed in many places along the Jersey Shore over the years and this property ranks at the top.

Room Tip: The 400 building is closest to the large pool and beach entrance. The 300 building has rooms that o...
