“A Perfect Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2013

After we sold our house, we needed a place till our new home was ready. We ended up staying almost four weeks in a two bedroom suite that also had a kitchenette and a living room. Rooms were spacious, the place was clean, the staff extremely courteous and always accommodating....whether Adel and Claudette at the front desk or Magdalene in housekeeping. We enjoyed our daily breakfast (included) that offered much variety: scrambled eggs with bacon (or sausage), toast, waffles, yoghurt, muffins, oatmeal, juices and of course coffee. On several days a week the restaurant offered a complimentary light dinner that was always a welcomed opportunity to also meet other guests. We genuinely enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the Sonesta ES in Princeton.

Pros:
- This is a very nice place to stay for a family. Our two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite gave us plenty of room to spread out and have privacy, and the well-equipped kitchenette let us store food and eat on the suite.

- The property is attractive and well maintained.

- The property has a basketball court, a very nice outdoor swimming pool, an indoor hot tub and a basketball court, lots of outdoor seating and two gas grills for guests' use, so there is plenty to do when you are at the site.

- The front desk staff was lovely and friendly.

- the beds and white-cotton bedding were perfectly nice and comfortable.

- Very pretty and welcoming breakfast area (food is standard hotel free breakfast -- nothing special).

Cons:
- These are minor and not important to us, but important to point out for people who care about this stuff. The rooms are a little outdated: no flat screen TVs, the bathrooms are plastic "bathfitter" tubs, rather than tile, the surfaces of the bathrooms and kitchen are plain white laminate; the shower curtain rods had been replaced and there were some poorly repaired holes in the walls.
- cleanliness -- we did find a few hairs in the bathtub, and the suite smelled of a cleaning product, rather than a nice strong nothing that we generally prefer ...

Overall, we would absolutely stay here again, without hesitation.

Room Tip: If you are bothered by traffic noise, ask for a room toward the back of the property.

My wife stayed at this property the night before our wedding in 2003 and later on we stayed as a family of 4 in 2007 when this property was known as the Staybridge Suites. We stayed for two nights May 31th until June 2nd for my college reunion. The general manager contacted me 2 weeks before arrival to inform me that my particular room type was overbooked. I communicated that I had 4 children and he made sure that I still had a 2 bedroom suite. He also had an air mattress placed for my 2.5 year old. Whenever he saw me, he took the time to ask how our stay was going and really made my family feel welcomed and taken care of. We swam several times in the pool which was clean and a wonderful oasis for the 80 degree heat. After we left, we realized that we had left an electric toothbrush in our room. The general manager (Marcel) informed me that it was found much to my wife's pleasure. We will be sure to return in the future to stay at this property.

Room Tip: Try to book a room towards the front of the property to be close to the lobby where breakfast is ser...

The suite was large and easily fit two adults and two teenagers. We used sofabed for boy and second bedroom for girl. Quiet location away from noise of route 1 but easy 6 minutes to PU (take Harrison not Washington Road).TVs were very old w/fuzzy picture. Toilet ran all night but shower was good. Everything very clean. Kids loved pool.

Just spent three nights here. It is an excellent property with nice amenities that is convenient to Princeton U. All employees we interacted with were very friendly. The suite-style room was great and so was the daily hot breakfast. Plus, we were able to get a great deal here on Priceline.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the rear building to be away from Route 1 noise.

Huge, clean rooms with a full kitchen (including dishes and all that jazz), big comfy beds to jump around on, and, most importantly, an awesome staff. I only stayed one night by myself for a wedding but I wish I could have stayed longer. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, and the complimentary breakfast was great with a million yummy choices. Adel at the front desk totally hooked me up. He made sure there was a room ready for me to check in to early, gave me all the cab info I needed for that night, and then directed me to a much needed bottle of wine they sold in their lobby store. JJ was also great. He helped me with my bags when I first arrived and even put up with my hung over recap of the wedding the next morning when I ran into him during his lunch break. I had about 4 hours to kill before my flight after checking out and the staff was super cool about me hanging out in the lobby and watching Oprah's Super Soul Sunday all afternoon. Highly recommend this place, especially for the price.
