“Great value and friendly”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014

We found this hotel to be perfect for our trip to Special Olympics Nationals. The staff was so helpful and friendly. The room was nice and quiet and clean. The breakfast was far above most hotels of this type and changed every day------and they even had dinner 4 nights a week with happy house. It was a nice plus for all of us staying there. Location was great, and I would highly recommend this as a base for any trip.

not recommend if you are looking for a suite type room the breakfast menu and dinner menu were good. but could use a little more verity. the staff were good the noise level high.their rooms are concided suits but the beds are on top of each other and the referiators freezes the food the whole hotel needs to be refurbished it is showing their age for the $200 you have to pay a night

I am glad that the hotel met your basic needs on this trip BUT I am saddened that we were not able to completely WOW you as we are able to do for most of our guests.

For US, a score of "Average" in any category is not the norm. We are used to getting "Excellent" ratings most of time so when you return to Princeton and stay with us, I can assure you that you will be happy you came back!

Very consistent with other Hampton Inns we have stayed at. Very clean, nice room, decent bed, great staff. Staff was very helpful. Do NOT rely on Iphone maps to find the hotel. Told us to park on side of highway and walk to destination. There was nothing there.

Had a good one night stay with my daughter. Quiet night on the side of the hotel (not facing the main road). Breakfast was quick and easy - which is important when you are trying to race out to a meet. Front desk staff were nice and helpful. Ample parking and wifi worked well. The only issue is the road - having to do a turn-around each time to get back to the hotel from downtown Princeton.

Stayed 3 nights for a local soccer tournament. Clean, quiet room. Close to Princeton and highway access. Breakfast every morning in a nice clean area. There was an outdoor pool that looked nice but we did not use it during our stay. Would go back if we were ever back in the area.

We stayed 2 nights at this Hampton on Memorial Day weekend to visit family in Jersey. Its location was convenient, within 5 minutes of downtown Princeton as well as an endless number of stores and restaurants a little further south on Rt. 1.

Check-in was fairly smooth and we were placed in a first floor room. The hotel itself is larger than normal Hamptons with an outdoor pool and seating area situated between the 2 wings of the hotel. Lobby/seating area was a little small in size in comparison to the number of rooms in the hotel in my eyes.

Overall, our room was clean and big enough in size for our family of 4. No complaints on that end.

Problems were found with both the complimentary coffee/tea service and then the breakfasts both mornings at the hotel. During the course of our stay the coffee/tea station was understocked, also at times the coffee or hot water for tea were cold. The normal (flavored) selection of coffee creamers were no where to be found and at times that area was messy.
Also, for some reason this Hampton (the only one I've ever come across) had not cup protectors for handling the drinks, so on instances where coffee was hot, the cup was uncomfortable to hold without using multiple cups.

The breakfast our first morning there was a disaster. They were completely overwhelmed by a sports team and food was depleted within the first hour. It was very slim pickings. I mentioned the issue to the front desk and they said "sorry, it will be better tomorrow". I asked for a few breakfast to go bags and they said they didn't have them on weekends. After a long pause....they went to the backroom and came out with a few for me.

The breakfast the following morning was only a little better, but way below the standard I've become use to as a Hilton Honors member.

The overall price seemed a little high as well, even though it was a holiday weekend the cost didn't seem to live up to the product. The outdoor pool/seating area has potential but it was very uninviting with large weeds growing in flower pots void of actual flowers! The pool patio was covered in leaves and pollen from nearby trees. It wasn't swept off once during the time we were there.

All in all, we left unimpressed with this location. We loved our first visit to Princeton, but will likely look elsewhere on a return trip.

Hopefully after delivering this review you may have had the chance to read over our typical reviews which are most often GLOWING. There is certainly a challenge to weekends that have large teams staying with us, but OUR Team works very hard to accomplish service with style.

Perhaps on your next trip, you too, will see the level of service that we typically strive for!
