“Great staff and modern decor, but nothing works!”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

I love the staff (esp front desk) at this hotel -they are super friendly and always remember me! I especially have to commend the manager on duty Roopa - she is really patient and super helpful! They really do go the extra mile to accommodate special requests and try to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The hotel was recently renovated and looks great and modern! The rooms are pretty spacious and well appointed/decorated, and most of them have mini fridges now which is great if you want to buy groceries or keep leftovers.

HOWEVER... the TVs only show like 8 channels, all of which appear totally grainy and aren't worth watching. The HVAC units rarely work. I stay here almost every week for work, and at least 3 out of 4 visits, I have to call for the building engineer to come fix my HVAC so I can have heat. The heater always blows out cold air. The bed is pretty comfortable, but the linens are rough and leave white stuff everywhere - so avoid wearing dark clothing (the sheets have ruined about 4 pairs of my black pants). Same goes for the towels - they leave lint all over the place! For the price you pay, you'd expect better quality linens for sure.

Finally, the internet - yes the costs are pretty outrageous, considering most area hotels offer free wifi and cost much less.

Too bad I can't split this rating into two - it would be 5 stars for the staff and 1 star for the room. The staff is extremely customer focused (right down to the housekeeping staff who could not have been friendlier). The grounds, the lobby, the restaurant, and the meeting rooms are all comfortable and well-appointed. But the guest rooms have paper-thin walls. You hear every flush, every snore from the adjacent room (no exaggeration), and your neighbor's TV. The beds are comfortable, but the pillows are flat. And temperature control in the room is a game of chance.

Room Tip: try to get a room where you only have a neighbor on one side.

This hotel fits the bill when you think of Hyatt Regency. Offering very good customer service, a clean room with excellent ammenities, comfortable beds, and good peace and quiet. Above and beyond was the full breakfast the next morning...truly one of the best hotel breakfasts I have enjoyed! With an omelette station, fresh fruits, an amazing pastry assortment, and excellent staff, this morning started off great.
On the other side, this hotel is renovating so a few things might be "a work in progress". A positive note on this however is I love the new decor...earthy and zen!
Worth a stay for sure!

Room Tip: Stay on a higher floor...there are some nice views of the park areas nearby!

Being a Hyatt means everything is lavish and appealing. Although this also means you pay for everything. Breakfast is NOT included and if you plan to stay extended, your visiting a local laundromat unless you have 48hrs to wait for your garments. Functionality is lost through glitz and glamour. No in room microwave or refrig: so no late night leftovers from your favorite restaurant.
This is an attractive hotel with wonderfully displayed interior courtyard with an inside heated pool. The bar/restaurant is very appealing and decorative. This location also offers a weekend exclusive comedy club.

We recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Princeton for two nights using Hyatt points. The hotel was excellent - the king bed room was spacious, comfortable and clean, updated, renovated and pretty. This is a large hotel with many amenities and services. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. This was a quick close-to-home weekend getaway, and we spent time in Princeton and nearby Lambertville and New Hope. The hotel has plenty of parking and a light and open feeling, with rooms over an atrium. All in all it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay.

I read a couple of negative reviews about the Hyatt before my recent stay. It seemed the hotel renovations were the cause of most of the negative comments. The majority of the renovations appear to be complete, as there was very little construction ongoing in the hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

The bar and restaurant areas were fully open and working well. I did not eat lunch or dinner there, but the breakfast buffet was excellent. Plenty of good protein to get you through the day with smoked salmon, bacon, pork and chicken sausage, eggs, omelets, yogurt, fresh fruit and pastries. The servers were very pleasant and attentive.

My room was large, comfortable and quiet. I stayed on the third floor in a room facing the exterior, rather than the interior, which may have helped. The people were eager to help. The one complaint I have is about a couple of additional charges. Given the room rates at this hotel, charging an additional fee for WiFi is gratuitous. Also, charging $5.00 for a bottle of water in the room is crazy. I have visited many excellent hotels in Europe where they provide one bottle of water at no charge per day. Again, given the room rate at the Hyatt, it would be much appreciated if there would be no charge for at least one bottle of water per day. Note that the vending machines have water for $2.00 per bottle...you just have to have proper change to use the vending machines.

Stayed here as part of a bridal party during one weekend in October. Great service for a huge group, we got rooms next to each other, great service at the restaurant and bar. It was very organized and the staff treated us all nicely. The center of the hotel is an oval with ponds and plants and a huge skylight. It made me feel like I was transported somewhere else!
