“A very pleasant property”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2004

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and have always been impressed by the friendly helpfulness of the staff. They have always recognized my Hyatt Diamond status by way of a welcome amenity (eg. bottle of wine and cheese/fruit/crackers) and continental breakfast certificates. There are a number of room styles, from non-descript to larger end units with enormous bathrooms and a wetbar to corner units with high ceilings and balconies overlooking the interior atrium. All are immaculately clean. This property has just undergone an $11 million dollar facelift and all carpeting, furnishings and wall coverings have been replaced. Beds are very comfortable and firm and climate control is central and very quiet. Parking is free, and the hotel provides a free shuttle and pick-up service within a 5 mile or so radius. This includes "downtown" Princeton, shopping malls and the commuter train station. Continental breakfast is quite acceptable and includes the usual assortment of fresh fruits, juices, yogourt, cereal, breads, bagels, pastries and smoked salmon (with onions and capers). The hot buffet adds oatmeal, pre-cooked scrambled eggs, French toast, a potato medley, sausage and bacon. Typical hotel fare, but nothing out of the ordinary, and a bit pricey for those without coupons.

The large indoor pool is enclosed in a separate ground level solarium and is quite pleasant given the beautiful surrounding landscaping. There is also a heated whirlpool.

All in all, a very nice property and a pleasure to stay amongst such helpful staff.

A very wonderful hotel! Not easy to find---small sign off the Hwy---but very worth it. As mentioned the lobby is wondferful with the water pond & koi fish & plants---felt terrific. Great food at the downstairs restaurant. Staff Very Very nice and the bell boys will drive you to town for a tip---most helpful. Rooms are spacious---big bathrooms! Very quiet, clean and just great all around. My compliments to Hyatt Mgmt on a great hotel!

I grew up in the Princeton area and have been to numerous functions in this hotel over the years, but stayed in it for the first time recently. Hotel itelf is very nice - there's an enormous open multi-level atrium that encompasses the front desk, bar and restaurant, and that's overlooked by half of the hotel's rooms. The atrium is lovely - it's covered with hanging vegetation, there's a running stream on the lower level with live fish, and it's just a unique geometric design - making it a place I've always wanted to stay. Rooms are nice, with nice bathrooms (great shower), big beds, and all the furnishings you'd expect. I've been to the restaurant for it's solid brunch numerous times, and I've heard the Crystal Garden restaurant, which is pretty pricey even by NYC standards, is supposed to be one of the best in the area for dinner. They also have a "wine bar" in the atrium, which I've never been to. Finally, they have a great comedy club ("Catch a Rising Star") that I've been to a number of times, where some names you've probably heard of often come. The location is semi-suburban, however (just off Route 1), so it's not walkable to anything, although it's a quick taxi ride to the train station, and maybe a 5 minute drive to downtown Princeton. But you almost have to have a car to stay here, or not mind calling cabs, which can take a while to get to you.

A hotel that is pleasing to the eye, with its gardenlike restaurant and birds flitting to an fro, if you can catch a sight of them. The employees are warm, friendly and go out of their way to help. At this point we know most by name and actually look forward to our return visit to see our "friends" again. The food is excellent and placed in the plate in a decorative manner to whet the appetite. If you need anything at your table there is always a server near by to check on your needs, sometimes before you even know you need anything. If you are looking for a total relaxing weekend Hyatt Princeton is the place to go. If you live in the area (as I do) it becomes a mini vacation when ever you need to get away. It is something to look forward to. Come on over.
