I have stayed at this hotel at least twice a year over a period of time spanning nearly four years, and have never been less than happy. The rooms have all been clean and well maintained, the size is more than adequate for a couple and their luggage, and the staff really cares about ensuring you have a good experience. The hotel is easy to get to and depart from (once you understand how to make left turns off route 1 -- that is, you mostly don't!) -- and is reasonably near to the University, downtown Princetown, and the hospital complex in/around Plainsboro.
I've read the many of the other reviews of this hotel and I have to wonder if the authors of some of the negative comments actually stayed at THIS facility, or are they confusing it with some other place in Princeton. Admittedly, this is not a Ritz-Carlton - which means you won't be able to get a lobster dinner delivered to your room at 3 AM. On the other hand, you won't be paying Ritz-Carlton prices.
The Courtyard brand aims for a particular niche of travelers, and IMO their Princeton location does an excellent job of meeting the expectations associated with this niche. More
