Stayed here during soccer tournament for my daughter. Rooms are good size, but beds are not that great. Quiet. Also be prepared for Rt 1 terrible NJ traffic. Staff friendly, easy check in. Price reasonable

Stayed in this Hyatt Place twice in the last 5 months (June-October 2011). This review is a summary of both visits.

It provides many pluses.

- It is conveniently located to Princeton University (5 minutes by car on back road)
- It has three restaurants you can walk to (PF Changs & Macaroni Grill < 50 meters away)
- It is set back about 150 meters from Highway 1 so there is limited traffic noise
- It includes breakfast and wireless high speed internet in the room price
- It has a free shuttle that goes about 5 miles from the hotel (drop off and pick up)
- Its parking is ample and free
- It has courteous front desk staff
- It is fairly new

It also has a few minuses.

- The breakfast area is very small and gets very crowded; you may wait a while for a table
- The breakfast is only useful for a quick bite; food selection and variety are quite limited
- It has "lunch" and "dinner" offerings you can grab from the front desk (eat out instead)
- Soap/shampoo/conditioner in the shower are provided by dispenser attached to the wall
- The wall unit that cools does it well, the same unit that heats the room smells to no end
- The price for a room is slightly higher than the price for several equivalent hotels nearby

My first visit was great, deserving 5 stars. Room was clean, beds were supportive but not too firm. Housekeeping did a good job restocking / cleaning. Temperature outside was mild to hot and the wall unit did a good job keeping the temperature comfortable in-room. Stayed for a few nights.

My second visit was not so great, deserving two stars. Room was clean, but the toilet would clog with the lightest of use. One of the walls in the bathroom had a four foot section of its wallpaper peeled off revealing the prior wallpaper and large patches of mold on it. The bathtub also had mold around the edges where it met up with the walls. The bed was soft and depressions on the mattress would roll the sleeper around. The wall unit would emit a foul odor when placed in heater mode; slept the night with the unit off as the bed cover was sufficient to keep me warm. Was only there for that one night and had to leave early the next morning, so I did not pursue a room change where normally I would have.

In both cases my arrival at the hotel was around 8PM. The first room was in the 5th floor, the second was in the 3rd. My recommendation is to go ahead and book the hotel if it serves your needs (price, location, amenities), but to be prepared to change out your room for another (as is the case for any hotel).

I, my husband and our daughter stayed at this property for 3 nights before our daughter's freshman move in day at Princeton. Great location to drive to the University w/o having to bother at all w/ Hwy 1. There are also nice restaurants and a shopping mall in the complex.
The lobby and the guest room was very stylish, clean w/ a comfortable seating area. Our room was $109 including brkfst.
We were also able to ship a few boxes to the hotel prior to our arrival. We enjoyed this Hyatt Place brand very much. We will return here when we visit our daughter at Princeton.

Overall, a great place to stay. Conveniently located near many restaurants (several are walking distance) and shopping, as well as the main attraction for a family vacation...Sesame Place, which is a short drive down route 1. Twenty minutes and $1.00 toll (southbound only) and you're at the park. The staff was great, very accommodating. Included in our stay was complimentary breakfast which is much better than the typical "breakfast included" other hotels offer. There were multiple hot and cold options including fresh fruit and scrambled eggs that were actually cooked all the way!

There are only couple things that could have been better. First, the double beds are pretty small, even for two average sized adults. The bed was not particularly comfortable either. The other disturbing condition were the rugs. They don't look dirty, but our ten month old proved otherwise. Our little one had to be wiped clean every time they finished crawling around and playing on the floor. Overall, the rooms were quite nice despite these inconveniences. The location, amenities and nearby conveniences are what makes this hotel so attractive as a guest. Now if they would upgrade their beds and shampoo the rugs once in a while, they would get an "Excellent" rating!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights recently. I arrived at about 9:30PM. I had guaranteed late arrival and the room was pre-paid, so check-in should have been quick and easy. However that was not the case. The two people working the front desk were more interested in talking between themselves, and just about anything other than taking care of checking in myself and another customer. These two employees seemed rather unprofessional, not overtly rude just a bit ignorant in the ways of customer service. The other customer waiting to check in said he stayed at this hotel often and never experienced such issues. Perhaps just a bad night.

Other than the poor check-in service the hotel is OK. The breakfast that is included doesn't offer much variety but was OK for my morning requirements (coffee and a small bite to eat). My room was clean and generally quiet durning my stay.

The hotel is located off US 1 which can be a bit difficult to access if you happen to be on the wrong side of the road.
