“New Year's Eve. Early dinner. No reservations”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

We started going to Rod's for New Year's Eve dinner about 20 years ago. Many restaurants in our area require reservations or are only open for scheduled New Year's Eve parties. We prefer to have an early dinner and to spend our evening at home. Rod's serves their regular menu plus blackboard specials. We also dine here during the year and have very rarely been disappointed. Last night we had a delicious meal. I had sliced sirloin steak on toast points and my husband had a 16 oz. sirloin steak. Both were cooked to our specification and were juicy and tender. When we are in the mood for beef, Rod's is one of our "go to" places. The Chicken Francese is one of the best ever. Reasonably priced, great service and a friendly place.

“Excellent Food and Excellent Service. It Just Doesn't Get Any Better.”
Reviewed 25 December 2013

After talking with everyone in the family about where to have dinner on Christmas Eve we all decided on Rods. We had reservations for 6:00 pm and upon arrival was immediately seated. We have been coming here for twenty years and The food and service was as good last evening as it was 20 years ago. Both food and service consistently excellent. Our large family consisting of four generations ordered various items from the menu and everyone was very happy with their dinners. Alyssa our server could not have been better. Even though the restaurant was packed she treated us like we were the only ones there. The appetizers were great, the dinners were great and the desserts were great. We could not have asked for a better dining experience. We will definitely be back. To the staff at Rod's -- Great job Christmas Eve night.

“Great Casual Shore Bar”
Reviewed 28 October 2013

I've been to Rod's many times and have never been disappointed. Yes, you may have to wait a little while, but that in itself tells you something.. Lot of local regulars, and they are always friendly. Staff is great too. I've tried burgers, fish and chips, ruebens and it's all good at a fair price. One reviewer said he wouldn't go back because he paid $30.00 for he, his wife and kids to eat salad, shrimp cocktail and a basket of fries. McDonalds would cost you that much !! Anyway, like I said, if you are in the area stop in !!

“CHEERS WITH AN IRISH TWIST”
Reviewed 15 October 2013

Rod's is like Cheers but with Irish twist. It doesn't take long to be accepted on your first visit. By your second visit, you are one of the gang. The regulars and bartenders can't do enough to make you feel right at home. And, those bartenders make one terrific Manhattan.
If you are hungry, Rod's is for you. I don't care what you order, it is not only delicious but a huge portion as well.
I highly recommend Rod's to anyone in the Spring Lake, Sea Girt area. I know that i will keep going back!
