I have been staying at the island beach motor lodge since 1980.
I try to get down there every year.
I recently stayed in the pent house and we loved it.
Im planning on a aug of 2009 trip with the whole family for a week, they need to experience the great rooms, beach and freindly people.
This will be the first time im taking my little one there and i know he will love it also.
We love the location, close to the beach and far enough away from the boards.
Bum rogers is the place to party, been doing it forever.
Thanks island beach motor lodge for a life time of family fun.

This place is wonderful. It's what used to be common place all over the east coast, small private owned motor lodges. Long since put out of business by the huge chain motels, the Island Beach Motor Lodge is spot on. The larger rooms are great for parents with a couple little kids, especially to have a place to sit down for meals in the room, what a reprieve from restaurant chaos. The people who run this place are all very friendly as are the other guests. A quiet escape from the busy places, this was a wonderful spot we hope to visit for years to come.

This is absolutely the best place for family ever..set away from the sounds of the boardwalk..yet close enough to see the boardwalk, and a short drive away. We have been there the past 3 years, and will continue to keep going back. The heated pool was a life saver 2 years ago when we had a week of rain. Most of the staff is very accommodating. The rooms are clean, and the staff does well to make it nice and relaxing, and frowns upon loud parties. Excellent place for people who like to fish since this borders the state park, and there is an endless untouched beach away from any hotels. Bring lots of cash though if you want to eat at the Atlantic bar and grill..otherwise theres an A&P market close by to buy food.

My husband and I have been bringing our children to the Island Beach Motor Lodge since my 10 year old was an infant. It's perfectly located at the entrance of Island Beach State Park, away from the hustle and bustle of Seaside Heights and the hotel is right on the ocean. A short walk and you can enjoy the beach. Then, when the kids have had enough I take them back to the hotel pool for them to splash around. The hotel offers plain hotel rooms, and they also offer efficiencies with a little fridge, a microwave and a 2 burner stove. It's great to save some money and have some meals right at the hotel. The restaurant, Atlantic Bar and Grill is an upscale restaurant and the food is delicious. You'll know where your extra money is going. This hotel is not the Ritz Carlton, but it suits us just fine. It's an older hotel, but the rooms and bedding have always been clean and some of the rooms have been updated. The Seaside Boardwalk is a short drive away. We always look forward to going to the Island Beach Motor Lodge. We're leaving Saturday to go for the week!

Just returned from a short weekend trip to the Jersey shore and stayed at the Island Beach. Very nice motel at the end of the main road just before the Island Beach State park. Away from the hustle of the Seaside Heights boardwalk area, but close enough to ride down for some fun. This motel is right on the beach. The beach is very nice and not crowded like uptown. The room was clean. There is a nice pool and sundeck with reasonable rates and just what we were looking for a quick, peaceful beach getaway.

This was by far the absolute best motel that I have ever stayed at, at the jersey shore. My husband and I stayed in Ocean View 2 the very last weekend in Ma 2008.

The room was huge! With two queen size beds on the main floor and than two steps down into a large living area with a balcony that was right on the beach. Though the dunes were a bit high and you could just barely see the ocean itself, it was a wonderful room with clear view of the sunrise in the AM.

The room was absolutely clean and seems to have been renovated sometime recently. The carpet was spotless, as were the sheets, bedding and towels.

The only thing that seems to still need replacing was the ceiling vents. They were clearly the originals, but the filters inside (you can see them, they are blue) were obviously new and dust free.

Eileen, at the front desk, was an absolute doll! So very pleasant and more than willing to please.

Beautiful, clean beach right outside the door for a quiet day on the beach and only a few minute drive to the boardwalk. We will never stay at any other hotel/motel when going to the jersey shore!

HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended!

I have been a regular at the IBML since 1971, with a few years off when finances were bad, and I really enjoy it! IT isn't a luxury hotel, but it is one of the nicest ones you will find in this area. If you need ANYTHING, the staff, especially the beautiful redhead, will see to it to the best of their ability. They are genuinely happy to see regulars come stay year after year....Try the BOATHOUSE restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Walk on the boardwalk (one mile north,) rent a bicycle, visit the gorgeous state park with trails, eat delicious seafood at several places right on the block. Witness sunrise and/or sunset from ocean or bay, the bay being maybe 4 blocks away. Just come and ENJOY!
