Owner description: Field Station: Dinosaurs is a thrilling dinosaur expedition featuring 30 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs (including the ninety foot long Argentinosaurus). Meet a 15-foot T-Rex puppet, enjoy our new 3D movie and see the park come to life with dinosaur wranglers and troubadors at this interactive outdoor adventure in New Jersey's Overpeck Park.

What an exciting adventure for our 4 and 6 year old grandchildren! The 30 plus animatronic life- size dinosaurs were around every corner and blended well with the trees and bushes, and they were amazing! Their heavy breathing, roars, and movements left our grandchildren in awe! The younger one kept the map open the whole time while we followed the trail. In addition to dinosaurs, there were several hands-on activities for the children to participate in and a "passbook" that was stamped after each activity. It was nice that we were able to eat our own refreshments at the snack tent, and the generous portion of Italian ices that we bought was very refreshing! Make sure you bring wipes (for hands) and water! Although the bathrooms near the snack tent had an "outhouse" smell, there were real toilets to sit on and soap and running water to use. Discount tickets are available on Living Social, but we did not know this until after the fact. A perk of paying full price was that we did not have to wait on the line for discount tickets. There was also a price range depending on whether you wanted to see a short dinosaur movie and/or go in the explorer tent. We did not do this, and I don't think our grandchildren felt that they missed out! The exit was through the souvenir shop, but luckily, we made it out only with the dinosaur sticker we were all given! Try to arrive early for a good parking spot and easy entry! What a great adventure for everyone!

Recently took our 4 year old granddaughter who really likes dinosaurs and she had an amazingly good time. There is a large selection of life-size animatronic dinosaurs and various stations throughout where the kids can participate. Be aware, however, that it is not inexpensive..so I would look for discount coupons (or at a minimum, plan on your visit as one you won't be repeating for awhile) and bring your own food and drink. You walk along a long path stopping at various location to view the dinosaurs so make sure you pick a day that is not too hot (unlike us). Several hours will be needed for the children to see and participate in most of the activities. Oh, and adults should enjoy it too...we did.

Four adults, 1/6yo, 3/2yo, and the grandparents; everyone enjoyed it. Is it pricey, yes, is the food overpriced, same as any zoo or aquarium etc... Can you go to an imaginary dinosaur park anywhere else? No!! It is truly a nice experience, a great opportunity to educate your kids, and enjoy a day out. Don't buy the commanders tent, I looked in the room, it was a jip. I could not find coupons but if you buy on-line before you go, you can get a slight discount.
