“Nice stay”
Reviewed 1 June 2012

We stayed there on Memorial Day weekend. It was quite enjoyable. Although this is the first time that we stayed at this hotel, it was not our first time in the area. We stayed here since we were traveling with our daughter and son-in-law and they stay at Marriott often. The hotel has a free parking garage in the back of the building. You can either park on top or below. We chose below because it was covered. They have an Outback Restaurant if you are hungry. In the morning they have a little snack bar for breakfast - - not complimentary. The weekend we were there one of the elavators were under repair - - they said it should be fixed shortly; it was never a problem for us. The rooms are nice and comfortable. Staff helpful upon check-in and check-out. No problems at all.

Great place to stay if you want to cut cost and not stay in the city (NYC), plus you get free parking at the hotel. You can take the bus over into NYC for $7.90 round trip and be picked up / dropped off right at the hotel. The bus runs about every 20 minutes or so and it was a quick trip. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Room and bath were very clean. Only complaint is that there is no microwave in the room. You get a fridge but no microwave. I would stay here again.

I have read the bad ciritics about this hotel and had my concerns before booking it. But the closeness to Manhattan made me book this hotel..and I was positively surprised. This hotel brings value for money.

Rooms:
Nothing special but clean and everthing works.

Location:
Very close to Manhattan. Next to the hotel is a bus going to Manhattan Port Authority bus terminal where you can connect to the subway and other buses. Alone this connection is a stay worth in this hotel. And also close to New Jersey attractions like the Woodbury premium outlet mall.

Parking:
Free parking possible. So if you come with a car keep in the garage and take the bus to Manhattan.

Others:
Free wireless internet was fast.

I had the pleasure of attending a Tony Robbins UPW conference at the Meadowlands Exposition Center and had chosen this hotel due to it's proximity to the center.

The Pros:
Excellent cafe with very yummy breakfast food
Very friendly service from the minute I walked in to the minute I left
Perfect location - just a 1 minute walk down the street to Meadowlands Exposition Center
Free Parking
Comfortable bed with lots of pillows!

The Cons:
The cafe was only open for a few hours in the morning and I often arrived too late to eat there
It's an older building, showing a few signs of aging
A little pricey
The bathroom wasn't very up to date - the shower head, etc, were clearly needing replacing

I would absolutely stay there again. The Embassy Suites is right next door and is in the closest hotel to Meadowlands - if it was priced in the same range as the Courtyard Marriott, then I'd probably try it out as well. But if you're looking for a good, comfortable hotel with excellelnt service then you won't be disappointed at the Marriott. Just don't expect a new, gleaming hotel. It does look a little nicer than the pictures on it's website implies.

Definitely would not stay again. Elevator not working. Boarding pass computer not working. Internet slow and inconsistent. Sink not draining. Poor television reception---snowy all the time. The owners of the property should spend some money on this place or Marriott should close it.

Yes it was renovated but that's about it. Where to begin...one elevator out of service the entire time (with a sold out hotel), no hot water in my room, a toilet that didn't work (and when I called to have it fixed they sent someone an hour later and only after a 2nd call); slow or no internet connection, a dumpster below my window from the restaurant below that had what sounded like two ton bricks being thrown into in well past midnight; construction that began every morning at 7am and a staff who appeared to care very little about anything. The front desk phone was answered by the shuttle driver at one point who was nice enough but knew nothing about anything. I normally stay at Hiltons but the Embassy Suites next door was booked and this was the next closest property to the expo center. You couldn't pay me enough to stay here again.

Decided to stay overnight to attend seminar next day....tv (and remote) did not work...ice machine on 3rd floor did not work...staff not overly "customer friendly"....should have come to our room and "fixxed"same, instead of telling me to "fix"....I had to move tv to another electrical plug....and bring the remote downstairs to refill with batteries....they also filled my ice bucket, but no response as to why 3rd floor machine not working....not the "service" expected....but for a $60.00 priceline saved me long trip next morning....probably will not return...other, better choices....

Room Tip: Go for higher floor....lot of noise (next door to several malls) roadways.....
