Sometimes the little places that are tucked away, out of sight, are the best treasures.
I discovered one of the best kept secrets in South Jersey, almost by accident. Della Cori isn't much to look at from Glassboro Rd., but once you walk inside, you realize that these folks are very serious about their sandwiches, cold cuts and specialties. Their menu is huge and it is unique. There are 15 Signature hoagies, from their "Old World Italian" with Prosciutto, dry cured Capocolla, aged sharp provolone and roasted peppers, all the way down to theor "Maria Bella" made from sauteed vegetables and slender american cheese. There are the favorites like Porkette with roasted pork and sharp provolone and roasted peppers as well as some that I have never heard of.
You choose seeded or non-seeded rolls that are baked fresh daily, with just the right chew. They load the sandwiches, to an almost, overstuffed condition, wrap it in butcher paper and it dares you to make it home before you unwrap it and eat it in the car. Every ingredient is fresh and top quality branded meats and cheeses are all that they use.
If you're hungry, and I mean really hungry, opt for the whole. It will not disappoint even the biggest appetite. I weigh in over 200 lbs and the half is almost more than I can handle, and I have eaten them in the truck, on the way home too.
Great cold cuts, Italian specialties, fresh produce and breads but if you want to ride on the bus to Flavortown, get one of their fantastic sandwiches.
This place knocks it out of the park when it comes to hoagies and you will want to start at the beginning of their menu and eat your way all the way to the end. This is great food for a great price, a real value for sure.
You can visit them on Facebook if you want more info, but stop in and tell them that "Biker Mac" sent you.
